Noob need ALOT of help!

Hey SENIORS out there!!!

 

I need help(S) in my WR200...

 

1) White smoke.. Y???

 

2) How much is a plastic tank or a metal one? Which one better? Mine rusty liao.

 

3) If i wan to paint my frame, how? Myself or pay $?

 

4) Alot of parts on the bike r rusty.. Can remove by myself? eg. rims n spokes, belly.

 

5) Alignment of the front wheel is wrong. How?

Normally people who only respray their frame when they doing overhual.

Respraying of frame need to strip every component out, its better to let a mechanic to do it for you.

ok.. can i ask.. when do ppl do overhaul? cos i juz gt the bike.. n how much it cost?

You might not even need to overhual your bike. just go to a dirtbike shop let them check for you. I did not see your bike so i'm not sure if its necessary to respray the frame, but usually the colour of the frame dun affect the operation of the bike just leave it alone.

 

About the shops you can do a search on the thread.

black smoke = bike shop next.

1) White smoke.. Y???

a> White smoke for 2 stroke is very normal... if too much white smoke for 2 stroke, then you will have to check your 2T mixture setting at your carb... for 4stroke got white smoke, i think you have to stroke your wallet 4times after out from workshop LoLs... for 4 stroke got white smoke normally the piston rings wears out or valve seal leaking... to check piston rings wear-out, you can easily check through the oil breather hose. If there is oil leaking through there then that would be piston ring.

 

2) How much is a plastic tank or a metal one? Which one better? Mine rusty liao.

a>Plastics tanks are much more better than metal ones which is lighter too... for pricing wise i really had no idea, you need to check with the guys here.

 

3) If i wan to paint my frame, how? Myself or pay $?

If you wanna 2 paint your frame! there is a few option.

1>you can send to shop and paint it without removing the engine but the paint job will be not perfect as removing the engine.

2>If you wanna a real good job you can ask the mechanics to removed all the bike parts including engine then only send to paint job.

3>self DIY which is remove all the bike parts except for the engine, after that sandpaper your frame nicely using 500gred sandpaper. After done that you may need to do another sandpaper job using Gred 1000 sandpaper. After finished all the sandpaper job, wash your frame then wait till it dries off. Now you may use some newspaper to cover the engine or those parts which you do not want to spray. ok all prepared.... now you may spray.... you can spray few layer for added protection.... the rest i think you should know what to do hehehe..

4> remove the engine by your own (actually remove the engine is quite simple but u need place to do it) after removing the engine then follows procedure No.3.

a> some rust can be removed by using autosol or metal cleaner!!! but certain rust have to be sandpaper before applying autosol.

 

5) Alignment of the front wheel is wrong. How?

a> alignment of the front wheel wrong? just find a tiang/pole and correct it...hahaha just joking... im not really understand what alignment are you refering to? If the handle alignment then you will need to loosen the handle cone to set it back... if your wheel balancing or unbalanced fork, then you will need to send to bike shop.

 

I hope this will help you or maybe some others members will give a better opinion..

1) white smoke coz u use 2t which emitts a lot of white smoke....change to low smoke one lar.....PLs read the WORDS on the bottle.

 

2) of course plastic better......buy frm agent cos arnd $400++ if rust derust it if cannot go junkyard get another one. very very hard to find plastic one.

 

3) can do urself one lar no biggy one. just strip everything then cover those parts (engine etc) then enjoy spraying.

 

4) same as 2nd pt. if rusty derust it. use sand paper or spray with wd40 then wipe lar......

 

5) front wheel alignment wrong can adjust mah......left or rite?? just give it a bit of kick then ok wat.....

 

bro, u never rode bicycle before?? just wondering that's all. anyway these are just simple maintainance u can do ur self one......hope my advice helps aite.
