how long can stock air filter last b4 they need to be reaplced?

I bought my Vtech 1 about 3 months ago. I do not know the previous only owner ride how long on after last stock air filter change, but it looked new when i bought the bike. I have rode 10000km already. Its about timr to change? Or another 10000km also can? Lastly, after changing, is any tuning or adjustments necessary? Or I can just change and go and expect the bike to be running fine? About $65 is normal price hor?

used pipercross on my bike wit system n compared wit knn on the dyno..knn showed more hp increase.

Nope dont need to..When i changed mine,i ask the mech if needed to do tuning,but they say dont need to unless you change the exhaust.Dont believe it at first but after riding for 1K,open and check my sparplugs and the colour is still the same(dark brown)..

but knn need recharge and orginal don need jsut leave it to die

Dont throw away the stock filter upon changing to KNN,keep it.You will need it when your washing the KNN filter. KNN filter takes 2 or 3 days to naturally dry unless you fan it.

 

The recharger cost about 20plus,can use many2 times. Nowdays must diy,save money.

Hi all. Got some qns on stock air filter to ask.

 

1) what are the tell-tale signs that it needs to be changed?? Poor throttle response??

 

2) Norm practice is to use until the signs and symtoms are showing then change or shld change at fixed interval? Say 10000 km?

 

3) How long can Stock air filter last?

 

4) Any shop to recommend that sells cheap stock Air filter?

just brought knn at ah boy $55 n the cleaning kit for $18

1)Tell tale signs,poor throttle respose. Worst case,spark plug foul,due to improper air/fuel ratio.

 

2)For my KNN filter,i wash every 10000-12000km.I always go up KL so mileage is high.

 

3)After 8000km i can see dirt collecting in the inner paper element.

 

4)Cheap stock filters,not sure.

Taken out my pipercross filter to wash today so I replaced it wif my previous KNN filter.

Realise there is a difference in power & torque. Pipercross power !

if u look carefully kNn allows more air to flow through compare to pipercross even though its a race brand n more ex. did a dyno b4 wit both. a difference of 2hp.

Just change to knn filter @ $65. Inside d box got 2 pairs of stickrs. But, 1 black and 1 white. So any1 wan to xchange with me cos I wan both to be black. Those with white bike can go with sticker.

Quite a few shops selling, but so far that best price i heard was Unique Motorsports / $65 with install.

or any bros know where got better deals?
