Engine servicing

intent to do top-service, cleaning of carb and valve adjustment for my bike (spark 135) so far it one year old with 22,000km.

 

the bike is running well so i just intent to do it as part of maintenance plan.

 

so far from what i read about opening the engine for servicing is quite mix. some recommend to do it while others claim it shouldn't be done if there is no problem. the manual did state the need for valve adjustment after 12,000km.

 

so what the take? thks!!!

If you change your engine oil at the recommended intervals, keeping correct engine oil level and use stock air filter and replace them as per the maintenance schedule, at 22,000km, if it is my bike, I will only check the valve clearance to see if they are within the specification

thks. so far asked a few shops. 2 shops in JB told me it is not needed.

 

out of the 3 i asked in singapore, 2 of them quoted me. 1 of them told me there is no need to do so.

yes. out of the 3 shops i called in spore, one of it is planet motor. Dr Chong told me to come back when the bike hit 70k:cheeky:

HL cycle quote $100 for top-service which include changing EO, spark plug, gaskets etc and $50 for valve clearance adjustment.

 

unique motor is a bit of a mix. toh guan outlet quoted $190 while kaki bukit quote $220. package include top-service, cleaning of carb, valve adjustment, changing of coolant, EO, spark plug, gaskets etc.... everything that needed to be done is included in the package.
