Juz a few questions to ask.

1) If you remove the speedometer, how do you tell how fast you are going? Is it by the trigger of flashes from the Speed Camera?

2) If you remove the ERP unit, some places and even the Expressways, uses it. How do you plan to gain entries to these places?

I do not think it is compulsory nor is it illegal to remove those. BUT to be sure, can email LTA and ask. To me removiing these will only make it more inconvenient to you. Imagine wan to check how much further the bike can go before petrol runs out. Then OPS! No Odometer/Trip meter to gauge. Hahaha. I do know you can always use the 'lighter' technique. Open the fuel tank can see how much petrol left using lighter hahah.

Anyway to each is his own. Good luck on your project.

1) I ride a bike which doesn't move very fast, and my speedometer was spoilt a couple months ago. So no problem.

2)ERp is just a suggestion. I think it will cause inconvenience too.

My bike's missing both. Not having a speedometer is ok. Not having an erp unit can be troublesome sometimes.

So is it legal not to have a speedo? Will pass inspection ?

It's not illegal to not have and iu unit.. when u go for inspection ey don't check if u have a Speedo meter.. so should be fine I guess

inspection dont check ur speedo. TP dont care what speed ur speedo shows if he caught u speeding. u can have a broken speedo cable and ur speed is always 0, nobody cares. but if u take out the speedo n leave an empty space, it'll be weird. if u mod the space to something else, make sure it's legal also.

AFAIK, it's legal not to have IU. but it sure bring a lot of inconvenience if u're riding in SG often.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Bike with no speedometer is illegal... I was fined once becos i took it off from the bike. I owned a KTM 200 for offroad riding and decide to remove the speedo in case fall and damage the speedo. My advice is leave the speedo on the bike even though its spoilt.

I remove my stock speedo from my dirtbike but I install a Cateye bicycle speedo to give me my speed.

Never has any problem with my annual inspection.
