For me I try not to stop along the NSHW shoulder if someone flag me. I had this experienced once.

Whilst I was riding slowly along NSHW proceeding to Ipoh to repair my front bearing, suddenly a guy stop me and asked for my help. He said his motorbike run out of petrol and he asked me whether I can pillion him to the nearest petrol kiosk and send him back to his bike. But the strange part was that the he said his bike was at a different location. So I felt something wasn't right, so I decided not to help and ride on.

So my advise is to be extra wary and careful. Try to ride together.

And always go minimum 4 people. Why? Cus at least if one bike break down or whatever at NSHW, the other guy can accompany him while the other two can go look for help. Its like a buddy system.

The easiest and safest way is to join any orgianised trip to KL or Genting. I think there are already informations inside the forum particulary at the Trip Thrill section. You can gather details from there.

Another way is to initiated a trip. See if there are any experience tourers whom might be interested to join your trip.

You could PM me if you need advise but definately not hotel as I don't usually stay there, only at Genting.

Cheers.

When is your trip?

my trip's on the 13th of april. we are currently looking for a good parking place to park our bikes. any recommendations?

The last time when I rode up to KL I parked at Grand Seasons Hotel. They have parking for bikes at the basement (RM2), but for big bikes they should be able to let you park right outside the lobby. That's what they did for me last time. You should be able to find the details through google etc. Good luck!

My Rides:

020307-050408: Honda Phantom TA200 (FU9253X)

030508-170115: Honda Shadow Slasher (FV5149K)

010213-010415: Harley-Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic (FBC822E)

090313-121113: Honda Phantom TA200 (FU2004U)

Nope, but if they say they have you should be able to park there. They're actually quite flexible about these kinda things up north so don't worry so much. Just go and enjoy the ride!

Usually i'll be staying in Bt Bintang area. Food and shopping is all available there. Incld numerous reflexology outlets to pamper those legs after a ride or after a walk. Also a good place to "feast" ur eyes.

Hotels ive stayed that is gd and safe for bikes so far:

1. Hotel Fortuna

2. The Royale Bt Bintang

3. SKY hotel

So far they allowed me to park right at the lobby itself. Some cheap protection to ensure a peace of mind is disc lock and canvas. Just so to keep eyes away to ur bike. Sort of a double protection.

Hope this helps a bit.
