Masei Helmets is a Hong Kong brand created by Luusama and JDS, a China's OEM helmet manufacturer for several US and European brands. Established in 2008, the Hong-Kong based company has enjoyed exceptional growth in online sales and currently stands as one of the top helmet brands in online market. Masei Helmets has been known for its stylishness and functionality in the motorcycle industry. So far, in Hong Kong, there are several motorcycle stores in Mongkok, Kowloon City, and Tai Kok Tsui, distributing its products.

Beginnings

Masei Helmets entered the Hong Kong and US marketplace in 2008 with a product line of several reasonably priced & fully featured models (802, 803, 815, & 816). While providing customers with maximum 'bang for the buck' is simple in concept, this approach to product design demands continuous refinements and innovations in helmet design, and improvements in manufacturing capabilities.

Advantageous Structure

Unlike helmet manufacturers who work with agents and resellers, Masei Helmets sells its products directly to end-users worldwide via facebook and twitter, since the sales of helmets online has become mainstream and counted 25% of the total sales this year. Its facebook page has reached 10,000 fans worldwide.

By conducting business in this manner, Masei Helmets has been able to eliminate additional tiers in the supply chain which only contribute to inflated prices and a wider disconnect between the company and its customers. Avoiding needless middlemen allows Masei Helmets to provide leading edge helmets at surprisingly affordable prices. Meanwhile, customer feedbacks online are directed to the company for improving its quality and service. Luusama, CEO of Masei Helmets, states that the company is very responsive to customer's needs and the changing environment by communicating with retailers and end-users directly in facebook. "This brand was born not for making money at all. Masei Helmets was born to keep motorcycle enthusiasts & friends together worldwide. I am doing it more for fun and friendship."

Since that first year, Masei Helmets has excelled at finding the right balance between helmet stylishness, functionality and affordability as the product line has expanded to include dozens of offerings. As such, the company has enjoyed stable and consistent growth online.

I would love to get an Ironman helmet too but I would like to know how safe it is. Someone was asking and no one replied, any ideas?

go to their facebook page and check out their helmets. they sell from there. i think most of them are limited edition in a way as they don't produce alot.

Safe? DOT/ECE as stated earlier. Never ride faster than your guardian angle can fly

Bought this blue Ironman Masei full-face helmet. Not PSB approved though due to its quick release buckle. Used it for a recent trip. I find the sun visor very useful for day riding, and the helmet is comfortable and well ventilated though there is some noise while riding. Also, a fun helmet and a good conversation starter with strangers!

I trust helmets with official Snell stickers, but not sure about DOT. It seems like a lot of cheapo helmets (taobao open face) have DOT labels, macham like part of the paint work.

I only trust official certification stickers, not labels that says it's xxx certified. So far I only know Snell confirm got. Not sure about ECE. DOT neber seen before.

OK... IMHO...

I never buy helmets certified under DOT.

Why? DOT stands for United States, the Federal Government's Department of Transportation aka DOT.

So the big $$ question is... Who Certifies a DOT helmet??

Answer: NO ONE! but the factory them self's!

Here a link for better understanding...

Quote:

"DOT certification is done on the honor system. The helmet's manufacturer determines whether his helmets satisfy DOT and then claims the qualification for himself. There is not even a reporting requirement."
