Hi to all,

 

Yesterday when I was at X-junction near to 10 miles junction, there is one cruiser which I believe should be a Dragstar.. It is a red bike with white strips... Just wanna say hi to you and to tell you yer bike is great... If I am not mistaken, you are wearing a full-face and you live or is going to Veretta road (or something like that..)

Dear experts of Dragstar or any motorcycles.

I have a problem with my five year old Dragstar classic.

Two weeks ago, my headlight bulb blew out while starting the bike. So naturally I went to the shop to change a new one. I never give a thought that the brightness is not there after the change.

And true enough this week, my bike's battery is weak and cannot e-start the bike. So I push start and ride my bike, and realised that the charging system may be damage.

So I point my headlight at a wall, and I throttle the bike slightly..instead of the headlight becoming brighter, it actually become a little dimmer!

Yes...99% must be the charging system damage. At least the spark-plug circuit is still firing strong. Hoping that 1% is wire loose or dirty contacts on the charging part.

I will be sending it to the Yahama workshop to get it repaired this Saturday. I just want to avoid been 'con' into paying for the Full alternator system while maybe only some 'minor' parts change will solve the problem.

 

Anyone care to comment and give some advice?

if you are saying that you are sending to HL, well I send my bike for major job like engine gaskets change,fork spring change. They are definitely better than outside motorshops and of course a little more expensive. They show you the parts that was change or damage and why was it change....at least the technicians care to tell you what was done to your bike.

I know few of the technician there, I been there 3 times, to change the shaft and also to full service the engine, infact, one of them is the forum member, .. I am very satisfy with the service despite u need to spend a bit more and also spent some time there.

 

They normally will not take in bike if ur bike need major repair or etc (unless u can put the bike there overnight).. They always advise you to come on weekday morning and then take the bike in the evening ...(unless u can do so lah)...

 

So far, what I done is go there very early morning at Saturday and ask them to do for me before other bikes come for their free service.

 

I can give the technician there a point of 8/10 ... touch wood, so far my experience there are good !

Actually dragstar you can call them and book your slot that what I normally do.

Agree that they are better agent than the other two Japanese bikes local agents....at least they are more friendly and dont put on an air...
