i think my custom is running damn lean.. caz for 15litres i'm getting like 25km/litre. which equates to 375km per tank. and when i topped up at 375km, i managed to get in 13 litres only. go figure..perhaps i'm really going slow. haha.

if u didnt touch the carbs it should be factory setting.. if i remember correctly its 92 and 92.5 for the main jets.. good u got the mileage since now fuel prices are high.. unless u intend to change pipes, if not dun touch the carbs... let me try out my harley carb conversion.. if it works.. you draggies are in for some good stuff man.. hahaha..

so wat effect will the harley carb cause?better FC with more power?haha..

I've got a strange feeling that it'll give out more torque but i'm just guessing coz X-iLED should know better at this...

i also am trying out.. dunno the real effect. but theoratically,.. now we have 2 carbs,.. whenever u have more than 1 carb, carbs need to be syncronized to have smooth power delivery. by converting it to one carb, i'm infact giving constant or same delivery to the engines.. our mikunis are 28mm each while the harley cv is 40mm.. this definatly will not give better FC.. but i'm hoping it will give me better useable power.. will be sending it for tuning once i complete the mod.. get the powercurve readings

guys, i wanna enquire ur shifting habits. at wat speed do u shift up or shift down?

on manual: u shift up 2nd at 16km/hr

3rd at 24km/hr

4th at 32km/hr

5th at 40km/hr

shift down 5-4/4-3/3-2/2-1 at 25km/hr

for me shifting up at the recommended speeds seems to be quite a chore caz i muzt shift constantly from start. so hope u guys can help.

When i first started riding, i too was very concerned on how much the tank will hold and how long it'll take me...But as i found out, it all depends on how the rider rides the bike, the more you rev your throttle, the more fuel it'll use up, and how you ride on the road also plays a huge part...

If you like to speed up all the time, it be a matter of time that you need to fill up your fuel tank again...So, it's all a matter of you and your bike, and how you both feel comfortable (Rider & Bike)...That's why, most riders consider their bike like their 1st or 2nd wife, either ways, it's so-called bonding with your ride bros...

Hi Swirlacer...Please don't mind me for saying this but all riders have their own personal liking to shifting their gears...In the USA and Europe, the manufacturers invented auto-gear bikes for riders who do not like to think about shifting gears but here in Singapore, those kinda cruisers aren't available yet...

To my best honest opinion, you have to find your own most comfortable way in shifting your gears for your bike...Once you've develop that momentum, you'll sure to have a better, more smoother ride bro...Hope this helps...Cheers...

yeap, v true.. it all depends on each individual's rev patterns.. i'm juz giving a point of reference for a person who rides mainly on e highway, throttling at normalli 100+kph..

hmm.. ur shift up chart looks kinda wierd to me, assuming its for dragstar.. kinda shifting up too fast, but maybe dat's how u get to go up to 25km per litre of ur petrol? haha.. i normalli go up at 20-35-50-65..

gives me better control of e accelaration esp if in traffic.. if no traffic i can even go up to 70+ b4 changing to 5th.. personalli i hate e 2nd gear coz its normalli juz a sec b4 i change to 3rd..

as for shifting down its hard to say, coz depends on wad kinda slowing down n if u wanna make use of some engine brake..

Try going by feel or by your ears. You hear the engine reving up to a point where it feels it's too high or can't go anymore higher then chance. After a week or 2 of riding you should get the hang of it. Keeping an eye on your speedo while riding and changing gears also not very safe, should keep an eye on the road :)

Oh well...since someone mention abt automatic cruisers i might as well share with u guys.

If u love those automatic skuters like Suzuki Burgman, Honda Silverwing, Piaggio Nexus, Yamaha etc etc zipping ard town effortlessly. No hassle of changing gears. Twist n Go!!!

BUT at same time u LOVE the cruiser's cool styling, sitting posture, accessories etc etc...

Well.... someone chopped a scooter auto transmission n stick to a cruiser's enjin n Voila! came up with a cruiser bike without clutches!!!

Ridley Motorcyle Company is the name u looking for.

Thanks bro, and it's really a hot fad for Female Cruiser riders in the West coz it has the size to match up to the other normal clutch transmission cruisers but all you have to do is just like what SgStarRider said, TWIST & GO....Cheers bro for the pics and link...
