2 strokes causing pollution

I got a letter from NEA fining me for causing smoke pollution. I ride a kawa krr 150, and i always use motorex or other decent oil..problem is it is a 2 stroke..there is bound to be smoke..I have been riding for 1 year now, and this is the first time this happened. And if i remember correctly, there was no 'additional' smoke on the day of the fine. What is their threshold for the smoke level then..? it's mentioned nowhere on the website. has anyone been fined here before..? is it any use appealing ?

i got fined before on 2009 when i was riding my RS125... ride for going 1yr and i got a letter from NEA first time too for smoke pollution. i nvr try appeal just pay and learn a lesson. that day i was rushing to work so i just start my bike awhile and rush off thats y alot of white smoke... usually i will warm my bike for at least 1 min to let my bike stable without any much smoke.

I've been fined before a couple of years ago. What NEA do, is to take a video camera on the bridge and video all the vehicles. Any vehicles with smoke they'll jus issue summon. No point appealing as there is proof against u.. What u can do is to tune down ur 2t lvl or clutch in when u see those NEA personnel on the road!

exactly..i wasn't even aware NEA can fine you...When i saw their mail, i thought it was a warning for dengue fever and was about to scrap it... thank god i didn't or would had to go court..phew!

The only time i gt summon is when i saw this officer on top of the bridge with his big tripod stand and a video cam... I didnt think much into it until afew days later, a NEA letter was sent to my hse

I paid the fine. The letter said they have a video of me emitting smoke...i called the guy and he said they can show it if i visit their office in scotts road...let's see if i have time this week, would like to go have a look, see how much smoke are they talking about.

can buy 2 stroke..but don't ride them.!!!.but i am happy i got to enjoy a powerful 2 stroke while it lasts..5 years down the line there many not be even a single one left in sg. atleast we can tell those kids then what's the feeling when u hit the powerband on a 2 stroke..

Im riding krr too and using premix. Its quite a hassle though when pumping fuel. To avoid any excessive smoke, i use small bottle to measure the amount of 2T. Just to share, for every 10 litre of petrol, i add in 150ml of 2T. Been riding for 2 and half years now and everything works fine for me.

In e 90's, have tasted TZR125, TZR250 n e RR version, RS250, RD250,350 aka RD Tong, MBX125, those bikes r a legend now
