I'm thinking of doing so to take advantage of some brands that uses highly refined, esters based stock while other companies using very good additives hahaha. And oil treatment packages wahaha never ending arguments. But I say, don't bet all your money on it, still feel most of them are gimmicks. Engine oil companies spent lots on research. I bet they have invested a lot in their products as compared to these ppl who creates oil treatment stuff. Just don't make any sense

Ya, it's all part of marketing strategy, to have people changing oil frequently although it's not necessary most of the time. I have ever tried not changing my car engine oil for 1.5 years and in the end it's still running fine. Hehe...

Gsxr1000 street only.

Im surprised actually. Wasnt expecting any difference.

Was contemplating between royal purple sae and this.

but i remembered on my steed400, though not much difference, schaeffer 7000 semi syn was smoother and stayed that way longer. No brainer that i got the 9000 fully syn.

Im more amazed now than i was on my phantom days on the difference engine oil can make.

anyway, i like 5-10w40 oils. Even on my vtwin steed

Anybody tried mobil 1 super4T 20w50 before? It's mineral and I want to see which has better reviews compared to castrol activ 4T which I can only find in 20w40. Basically my bike recommend 50 grade and for now I wanna stick to mineral till fully run in. Mine is a twin so yeah.

Used it to run-in my phantom. Was pretty okay. Never ran at high speeds so nt sure hw well it will hold up. Probably can use it, but change it more often before converting to synthetic.

slayer, my twin reccomends w40 oil and i didnt like the w50 oils as reccomended by the shop.

I trust the brand mobil.

If you must, For the afterwards, i reccomend schaeffers 20w50 vtwin oil at $12 a quart. MXTRADINGS have them.

Naim. I didnt see the big bottle. but the small bottle quite ex.

Have you tried 10w40 oils? I think pick up will be better general basis and bike will feel lighter.

I also saw big pails of engine oil prolly meant for trucks along ubi.

You seem like a high mileage user.

I hardly did 5000km for the past year.

No la not that high. My scooter nw 9 mths old i clock 14k km. you different la. you on MC wat. Haha.

i used 10w40 most of the time. Tried redline and 300v before. Nw on delvac mx 15w40. To be honest, can hardly tell difference. LOL. Maybe cux mine is single cylinder. Actly tot of trying the schnell 5w40 turtle oil or carlube, but skeptical ah. just find it hard to trust small brands. Haha!

Thats y i tot of trying the synthetic 15w40. Should be even better than the delvac. And smaller viscosity spread means more shear resistant.

redline have a 15w40. their diesel oil have no moly so should not have any problem. read that it is been built like a tank...hahaha...

Oo thanks for the advices. Im assuming your twin was the steed? why did they recommend w40? my manual says w50 too but its hard to find w50 mineral oil here. once fully run in, im thinking of switching to semi syn like motul. though i do heard of scaeffer Hmmm Schaefer vtwin is a proper bike oil right? Lol

Anybody know where to get the 5L shell HDEO?

if i recall, i saw some shell products at auto motors at bukit merah lane there. im not sure if its the HDEO. im trying to find advance stuff myself.

anyway i just changed my current Castrol GO used in my bike. about 1700 km total mileage and it didnt look too good. after changing to new mineral oil, i can tell the castrol GO was really sheared down (shifting gears and travelling at various rpm levels) trying out castrol Activ now and will see how far i can stretch this oil.

Well I'm using it on my R1. I chose rimula because it's perhaps the closest thing to rotella which could be gotten in the states. R1 forum riders have good reviews and experience with rotella but since couldnt get any here so try finding something similar.

Rimula passes JASO standards and theres no EC factor so I guess im good to go. 1 thing i notice is that my running temperature drops and for now my torque curve comes out more crispier rather than smoother than when i was using castrol gold eo.

ps, Using 15-40 rimula not the 1 number weight type.

Where you buy?

I saw it in Malaysia selling in a bike shop near JB, but it's quite expensive after the exchange rate being calculated.

thought so, in spore, repsol very rare to find, even that, its not a wide range. If malaysia, i rather buy elf though. Also another rare oil to find in spore.

True, i second that. ELF was once popular, but due to poor demand and strong competition. Supplier no longer supply.
