Hi Guys,

Contemplating of getting a Harley Sportster. Went to showroom to have a feel of both.

Now am torned between a Nightster or Forty-Eight . Price about the same, so not a consideration.

Any opinion out there.

Thanks so much.

Hi there..

i am currently riding a 48. Imo its pretty much a choice in styling mainly.

This 2 threads might help you decide...

48 : http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=798148

nightsters : http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=342719

See which type of style appeals to you more...

One of the main reason that i went for the 48 is that i know i would want forward controls, and i love the big front tyres..

Do note that if u choose the 48, you will be visiting the pump station very very often.. i have yet to hit all the way till dry, but every 100km i would pump abt 5 liters of petrol..

cheers

Read thru the above 2 threads & decide what mods you would do with each bike to get a better idea.

i ride an iron and have tried the other 2... All fun, it a matter of preference not just for cosmetics but riding style/posture as well.

The pluses for the 48 are the low profile speedo, muscle front tire look, forward controls (if you are comfy with those) and the stylo small tank. It stands out more from other sporties in my opinion (comparing stock bikes)

where you would be riding would be a consideration. a bigger tank would sure be useful in Malaysia.

Thanks for the responses guys. Guess most of you are for the 48. I am leaning towards 48 too, simply love it's huge from tyre and overall look.

Anyways like maxx says most bikes won't really be recognisable after a while.

Just start with the one that most closely resembles the one in your head....

And start down the never ending road of "customising"

Mine is a 883L, so my stock tank is about 17L. The fuel indication light up after I travel about slightly half tank (used about 10L). Check with the dealer but they say there no problem. I wonder how they checked.

It light up for a while or all the way? Something might be when traveling up or down a slop, your fuel level not the same as the sensor , so will light up for awhile. But if light up all the way, then he sensor might Beout of place.
