Hi, im planning to install panniers in my CBR F4i like the pictures above...

i have a few questions to ask

1. How much would it cost to fabricate a rack?

2. when people custom a rack, do they buy a rack and modify it? or build a rack from scratch?

3. If i buy a rack that is a monokey rack, will the Givi V35 fit on it? or do they require a special rack?

any other useful advice would be appreciated

I modified my Hecko Becko rack from a DR650 sick rack to fit my DR800.

I got a shop that does metal work to do a rack from scratch before, but they did a poor job and it's not very stable, so get a proper one, then lengthen or cut to fit your bike.

How much do such modifications cost?

thinking of whether to order a rack which is a perfect fit for my bike online (around 400) or to "modify" a generic rack...

Because its for made for generic Givi monokey panniers like the E360, im not sure if the V35(plx mount or whatever)is able to fit to the rack. maybe someone can clarify about the mounts?

Givi V35 has different mounting as the usual Givi side box mounting. The other same box mounting as V35 is Kappa K33. When you order the side rack, for example SW motech, you have to select the one suitable for V35 or K33.

As for rack, I will prefer you buy a ready made version. The overall workmanship is still nicer IMO.

Yea, ready made racks always suit your bike's shape and they tend not to break the shape of your bike by sticking close to it..

i think there a couple of brands out there in the market for panniers each with its own rack, example, hb, givi and sw motech.. u can go research by calling the authorised dealers in sg whether they have a rack for ur bike.. usually they will have a pretty good deal for the side panniers and the rack.. enjoy ur ride bro~!
