This happened in May 2011 and this letter stating I have to pay a fine of $200 and demerit of 6 points came yesterday, what's worse is that it came on festive season. Bloody gahmen.

What happened was I was filtering from TPE into PIE if I'm not wrong, it was raining heavily, I saw an oncoming sand truck speeding so I slowed down, then I noticed a truck stationary on the shoulder, I braked a lil too hard, possibly on the road shoulder marking and front wheel locked, bike rammed the stationary sand truck and I was sent skidding till i stopped next to it. I saw the truck, 0 damage, I was going quite slow when I skidded but bike front end was totalled.

Hailed a cab and went to polyclinic cuz I was bleeding, TP called me and asked whether it was a hit and run, told them it was self skidding, met IO, had everything reported what happened....and this came, of all times, now.

Is there a possibility to appeal?

then they will revert to the first answer again

That time just pass liao, I got say I skill meh? Hahaha

I saw my speedo before the accident, 60km/h, below speed limit hor. Wet road, slippery markings, a scenario where you have to brake hard. How fast or slow I go won't make a difference, the only difference is how far I slide when I fall.

Accidents happen for a reason. Can't be the case that everything was correct and in line, and it still happened. Something definitely went wrong somewhere, whether the fault lied with you or the other party, although in this case it seems pretty obvious that it wasn't the other party's fault. Pay up, learn the lesson. No one is bigger than the roads.

Why bother state the obvious, the only reason I paid is because whatever the reason might be, if the fine is there, even if you self skidded because there's oil, its pointless to appeal if its an accident. Welcome to Singapore.
