No need to, since if the gathering is this Saturday, I am not going. I will be headed to the anime convention with friends. I want to see if God-in-disguise Kubo Taito is there, though I doubt it very much. He has Great Work to do in the weekly Shounen Jump this coming Thursday in Japan.

Today I went to Sim lim square to buy a 320GB hard disk & a external casing for it. That show how serious I am for the great Jap Anime Swapping gathering on 23th Sep. I proposing a programme for that day:-

 

1st Half hour - Transfer from each individual their dvds or portable hard disk about 20 to 40GB each of their recommended favourites.

 

2nd Half hour - each individual will have 5 mins to click & play their anime clips to show others & explain what so exciting about their favourite anime.

 

3rd full hour - each individual can have 10 minutes to download anything they desire from my 320GB hard disk.

 

The timings are flexible - depending on the turnouts. If less people means longer preview time for each individuals & longer download time. But I got feeling this gathering will takes 2-3 hour. Unless some one bring a second laptop, we can sort of speed up/ share the files transfer.

But subsequent future gathering will be much shorter, coz most of the best anime files are already inside my hard disk -everyone just simply takes turn to download while having their McDonald dinner at same time.

 

 

Bro Pather: How's the NAFA? Anything interesting we missed?

I did not go, because I was too tired, and my friend actually forgot we were supposed to go. I will be headed there next week which means I am not going for the gathering. Next week will have something happening at NAFA as well, an anime show or something, according to the information.

Erm...bro...I know how much u serious in this and I'm too. But I have to cancel meeting you guys on 23rd coz u know its going to ramadhan and that weekend considered the last weekend of the our month to enjoy.

 

So its kinda that I'll be joining some S4 guys to malaysia on that day itself and 24th I'll be working till 8pm.

 

Maybe we can plan it early next month? (7th Oct) coz next weekend i'm working too. (30th/09 - 01st/10)

Oh well, we can postpone the Jap anime swapping gathering since so many people unavailable.

 

We can't meet on 7th October because myself & Ones_co , planning to go day trip with SBF peeps to Pulai waterfall/ Kukup /Pontian & Batu Pahat. We basically explore the west coastal road, then return to Spore by NSHighway by 6pm. I inviting those peeps from the GPS User threads (Global Positioning Satellites) to come plus some S4 riders.

 

I was thinking if everyone interested can give some alternative proposals like Friday evenings or something closer. Otherwise, I think 14th October Saturday is tentative dates. We'll firm the date on 1st week of October.

 

 

Btw I am in process of transferring all my favourite anime into my new 320GB external hard disk. I think at least a humble 50GB compared to you people out there.

 

Last saturday at sim lim square , I saw they selling those tiny China made mp4 player, which can play divx, rm, mp3, rmvb , avi & mp4 files directly without need to convert to a standard mp4 format - unlike IPOD video or creative or the older mp4 player. The cost is about $150 for a 2GB player. Some more comes with build-in radio & voice recorder! Good for watching jap anime on the move.

 

I also have some software which can covert your dvd movies into divx at 2 to 3X speed with sub-titles captured. Must remember to bring in case got people interested. A 4GB dvd movie can be compressed to a 500mb divx or mp4 format file while still remaining at dvd quality. 2 hr movie can takes 1 hour to convert depending on your CPU speed & RAM available. This software is useful for speedily covert your dvd anime to smaller mp4 files to play in your PDA or PDA phones.

Mu fren bought a 160gb plus external hardisk(got fanplus 4 usb) at $150. worth it?

 

Coz I thought of buying one since my 80gb cpu cannot handle my sister thrash plus my anime.hehehe.

The seagate 320GB cost $150, its IDE 3.5" type. Seagate is most reliable - coz they have some shock absorbing technology inside.

Thank bro for the info. The hardisk considered to be cheap ah? coz my fren bought his hardisk 160gb at $100. so just add $50 to get double the size.

 

My fren bought his casing at $50 with 4 Usb port and a fan plus socket.

 

So that means if I buy the 320gb:$150+ $50(casing), Therefore the total amount will be $200. can say so very cheap...but now no money liao...

Selphie: Bleach will never end. The manga is going into a hot phase, and the anime is just allowing the manga to get ahead. Naruto made the mistake of not allowing the manga to get ahead first, which is why the fillers for it suck so much (no basis, they caught up to the manga and then decided to let the manga get ahead without any planning as to what to do with the anime).

 

I would suggest you watch Bleach till at least 63. 64 to the current episode (and at least several more) deal with a filler arc, the Bount arc, where it is possible to skip it because it does not appear in the manga (and is not considered part of Bleach by hardcore Bleach fans).

 

KAA has released DVD rips of Bleach up till 22 (only episodes 1-20 are available through BT though) and their rips are based off Lunar's subs, which were the best fansubs for Bleach until it got licensed and Lunar stopped. Then after that, you have to look around to see if anyone is still distributing Lunar's episodes (hard). You can get them from me though.

 

All: I went to the anime convention. It is small, has no cosplayers, and you need to read Japanese to be able to get the full thing out of it. It has nothing, really. Not worth going to.
