I've just bought an 8-cell about 2 months back and I think I forgot to ask those guys some questions.

Hopefully someone here will be able to answer them instead.

1) What's the typical lifespan of this battery?

2) Is it really really true that if I leave my electric start only bike there for a month without starting, I can still start it when I come back?

From the web and owners experience, its 3-5 years. But i have known 2 person personally who bought the the batt and it died on them within a year but that is due to their coil or regulator/rectifier wear n tear conditions.

It is true but then again it depends on the condition of your bike's coil and regulator/rectifier. A fresh coil and regulator/rectifier can back this up.

Regards of what type of battery, is always advisable to disconnect the battery terminals if you are not using ur bike. As this helps to minimise drainage of battery current. It also apply to all electrical appliances.

:cheer:

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

i am also using the ballistics battery. have used it on my super4 and now on my varadero. i did not ride often so my bikes tended to be left in the car park for weeks on end. my normal yuasa batteries used to drain off after two-three weeks. however, i never had a problem with the ballistics. my bikes started every single time without fail. so yes...you can leave it for a month and it will still start like the battery was new.
