just changed my piston. may i know the best way to run in a new piston? and also i seem to have trouble starting my bike now. i never had this problem before. i almost always have to use the choke to start the bike. any way to solve this? any help much appreciated. thanks.

what I believe after reading several stuff( 2&4 stroke )

 

you have to take it above 6k rpm to form a better seal. im not saying 10k everyday. maybe 7? 8? 9? hard acceleration and deceleration will help form a hard seal with the rings.

and remember it is always better to use a good 2t and premix more 2t when runnning in.

 

easy run in = future engine problems

always warm up the bike properly too

 

but rmb not to always ride at 8k or what. let the piston experience what a 7k is, 8k is thats all. REMEMBER NOT TO GO ANY WHERE NEAR THE RED LINE!! haha.

hey dude a FP plate sp machine can get for abt 300 odd lehz.... u add repray overhaul plus insurance also won't come out to 3k wat... 2 ex alr man... i got my FS plate sp otr for 2.8k... IMHO i think u kanna chop big time lehz... maybe others disagree?

if i'm not wrong, hard run mainly applies to 4 strokers only. 2 strokes is best to use the slow and gradual method.

warrior83 : buy alr nvm la.. take it as a lesson learnt.. if engine and everything is very gd condition.. ride for a yr be4 u change dun give u problems it's worth it la... when u happy while riding it's ok... but u should have done a bit of market research first man... mind stating the shop?
