Honda NSR150SP Riders

Hi fellas, I'm going to buy a 2B bike soon, and I really need your advice, cos i'm newb. I'm choosing either between a 2nd hand SP or KRR. I've been asking around, and these are the pointers I've gathered so far.

 

KRR

Pros

-Not much maintainance problems since you can choose younger models.

-Stock KRR faster than stock SP.

Cons

-Very light, making it accident prone

-style, but less style than SP.

 

SP

Pros

-Style man. seriously.

-heavier than KR, so not so jia lat if some car kiss you.

Cons

-very, very old, hence lots of maintaince problems. Plus all the other users must have had whacked the trottle like crazy.

 

Sorry If some of my pointers are crap, cos I'm really newb. Feel free to give me your comments. I want my first bike to enrich my life, not burden it. Thanks brothers.

 

 

the part where the weight thing is wrong la bro.... if u say this... i think wave and spark gone case liao...

 

and if u really tio kiss by car even big bike also fall... is see your balance and the impact how big...

 

but if say maintance is sama sama sama.... but say real.... KR is lesser problem cause newer and since many other say KR not good mah... so u think....popularity goes to SP....then sure will more people get SP...

i was just browsing thru all the posts in regards to the sp/kr thingie, and i just like to say something.

 

 

tiempo, buy what you think is nicer, what you like more.

 

both are almost the same bikes. 150cc single piston strokers. everything is not that much of a difference.

 

krr is faster? better? thats bull. it really depends on HOW MUCH MONEY you are willing to throw in to mod ur bike. i seen quite a number of VERY fast nsr150s before, but i also seen VERY fast krr before. it really boils down to mods AND the rider. maintainence? both are THE SAME. just that it depends on luck, if the prev owner actually take care of the bike or not. sometimes ppl look and take care JUST on appearance, but ignore the internals (eg. engine blah blah), does he take care of the bike? even if he claims that he changed this and that? *shrugs*

 

if you're lucky you can buy a 2nd hand bike thats problem free, but frankly the chances of that isnt very high.

 

as i said, buy what you like more.

want faster upgrade 400cc not enough take 1000cc ..faster take 1400cc..still wanna fast take wrx evo or wad ..then u can challenge the fighter jets

i can guide you. =) from np turn out u-turn go straight all the way until mrt that junction left. follow the track all the way ( dover, bouna vista, commonwealth) at commonwealth ther got one u-turn. u will see a big sieng song( and also long john silver and stuff) turn left.. then left again. ride slowly keep right turn right. tata.

outlook

1. white paintwork less than 5 months old.

2. rims sprayed gold together with paintwork

3. single seater

4. bent saitao

5. front tire less than 6 months.

6. rear tire due for change soon.

7. spiegler front and rear steel braided hose (carbon colour)

8. POP racing footrest (SG version. $180 when bought at HKL 1 year ago)

 

engine wise

1. last top overhaul was 6 months ago. changed piston ring/piston

2. been through 2 major overhauls. conrod, engine bearings and clutch bowl all change before.

3. block replaced with 2nd hand good condition one before.

4. last servicing 2 months ago.

 

will be selling the bike in stock condition. airbox and 2t tank will be fitted. original endcan (less than 2 mths old. scratch free). no mudguard though. and custom license plate holder.

in illegal condition. lol. shortened endcan, customized top head, no airbox and ported carb. ask around for my bike's reputation. xuan feng #13.

 

i've spent at least 2000RM on this bike.

congrat on getting ur bike back. jus add in an additional locker.. i mean jus lock ur wheel lor. changing the whole ignition cost a bomb.

no point in alarm IMO. unless you're sure you'll be near your bike whenever it goes off. if the guy has your key, by the time you hear the alarm, he has already ridden off.

 

do wht xiao wen says, get a disc lock. but must remember to unlock everytime before you ride off.

i did think about disc lock too. but what if he attempts to ride off with disc lock on and fails. my bike will still be there but i would have to replace a new brake disc on my own expense right =.=

 

so wouldnt changing ignition be best?
