swing arm is like most other bikes. the rear wheel is being held at two points.

 

something like this -||-

 

proarm is only held at one point.

 

something like this -||

 

rumour has it tat proarm allows more stable cornering.

but i think proarm only allows easier changing of rear tyre =))

but good to note tat some of honda's most famous bikes has proarm:

NSR150SP NSR250SPPGMIV RVF etc etc.

and good to note tat some big bike producers are using proarms for some models too:

bmw, triump (did i spell tat correctly? =x )
