my bike suddenly died in the middle of the road riding maybe at 70km/h.

unable to kickstart the bike back.

so push2 to carpark.

next day try change spark plug. no luck.

piston shld be useable since there is retraction when i kick start.

push start, gave some hope. but in the end still cannot.

 

advise?

Any tell-tale signs (e.g. weird sounds, choking noise, excessive rattling) before it happened?

 

If the batt is functioning (Neutral light comes on when u turn on yr ignition), the fuel tap is on with enough petrol, there is sufficient 2T in the 2T tank and the fuel line/tubing has not been tampered by petrol thieves - call the tow lorry ...

 

No point giving too many attempts at push-starting or u may end up damaging the gears/clutch plates with improper technique. And pray hard it is not a piston seize - yr block could be damaged if the piston had seized, and changing the block is not cheap. :-S

spark plug at 8000km ???

 

spark plug can last very long wan leh

 

i tried more than 6 months b4 and use until spoilt then change^^

That's what i think so also.. But if next time sell how much can we fetch.. Cos is totally redone man.. My COE will expire in 20 months time... So if the COE go up somemore.. totally the value of the bike will plummet.

i think normal spark plug can last more then 10 000 km at least

 

eh.. but SP 2-stroke leh... every revolution of the crankshaft the plug fires one time...

whereas 4-stroke is every 2 revolutions of the crankshaft..

so theoretically, 2-stroke should change twice as many times as 4-stroke..

 

furthermore, bikes(sport bikes) rev past the 10k rpm range... it is very stressful for the plug to be firing in such quick successions.. -just my 2cents..

well, the 8000km is only a guideline from honda... got pple who don't bother maintaining their bikes use until the spark plug die then change..

its up to the owner to decide lor :cheeky:

 

anyways.. theory and practical don't always support each other.. haha.. :angel:

yeah .. to each his own ..

10000 km change can bring me very very far already

agreed, mostly spark plug in 2 stroker need to change more often than 4 stroker, the most i used for 6 months b4 changing. its more than enough. rather than wasting money for tow truck.

No need a few ppl ... Yesterday a mech up'ed my bike into the tow lorry with my handlebar locked, alone ... :giddy:

 

lol jj last time gt tell us before,its possible to handle lock and still the bike can still be move away

Wah bro, thats what happened to my sp a couple of days back. Same thing happened. Bring to mech, he open up, my piston jam. The piston ring break. Altogether repair $200+ :cry: :cry: Hopefully yours some other problem ah, not piston jam.

i love the smell of 2T in the morning :thumb:
