thanks for the advice.. But could it simply be lousy kick starting technique rather than problems with my sp? the previous owner could start it in one try after my repeated attempts for about half an hour. and it could start easily once it is properly warmed up

my sp's not under lay up, just that i only get to use it around two times a week. i suspect it's got to do with the way i kick start cos if it's due to a problem somewhere else i believe it won't only cause problems when kick starting.. but then again did the honda engineers really mean it to require alot of skill just to kick start an sp??? or maybe it's a combination of both.. anyway thanks for the advice guess it's time for a servicing

Sometimes when i move off from traffic lights i trottle hard + slow realease of clutch but the bike is like dying off. it happens not everytime i move off. could it be air flow not regular or any other possibility?

Hello fellow SP riders! I have some problem on my SP, could any of you clarify me about it?

This is what i post on another thread----->"Hi, I am riding a honda nsr sp. My bike have problems to start. Evrytime when i leave my bike after riding for aprox-(3-4 hrs or so) i will need to pull the choke to start my bike. Not only that, i need to retain and hold the pulling of the choke for quite a few seconds, because if i put the choke back to its original position, the RPM will decrease and the bike will shut down by itself and i need to start doing the pulling of choke and start the bike again.

Another thing is, after i hold the choke for quite a second(10 or so) then put back to original position, if i throttle(while its neutral) immediately, RPM will eventually decrease and engine will shut down.

Is there any problem with the bike? Or izzit tunning problem??? Throttle immediately after doing the choke thing sounds like very thick air cuming out.

I know pulling the choke every time is not good. Can any of you riders out there help me???

Appreciate the help alot ppl!

Any shop good to understand this problem guys?"

And also...i think my exhaust come out alot of black2 thing like thick2 oil like that, that one is carbon rite? meaning must go decarbon uh? how much ar for that? Usually happens when i ride at fast speed

pls be reminded that sp is almost 10 yrs old.... Please do some research, in the past way before 10 yrs, most of the bikes cat under 2b are kick start...

if u buy just for the sake of transport, then, this bike is not for u... dont blame the engineer, it's the user prb... hee...

refer to this for ur info---> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kick_start for bikes, the lighter the better... =) can kup corner

oh ya by the way, keep it a habit of turning the fuel knob and headlight switch off whenever you off the engine... especially your bike is hard to kick start... i believe u'll be visiting the mech soon.... so~~ rmb to ask the mech the reason behind it... i dont know how to explain in words...

did the other thread bother to reply u? hee... cos pull choke is absolutely normal.. put it in a simple way, can you tell me y pulling choke is not good??? In fact, pulling choke does not damage anywhere of ur bike... so just pull only no need to worry =)

ur bike need to retune... i think the settings is too lean(opposite of rich) if u want to read up more abt hard to start bike, u can refer to post #129644 by me.. lazy to retype.

and also, the black black thing is 2t... if u seldom ride fast, the black2 thing will accumulate in the stomach, hence when u speed up, it'll shoot out lo.... if u want the stomach to be empty, there is this process called "clear carbon" and it's for free!!! LOL.....:shy:

just rev ur bike at 3rd gear then trottle above rpm10 if possible =) other gears also can... just make sure u dont caught speeding, or making alot of noise and smoke in the neighborhood...

hehe.... and if want to spend $$ to do, usually the mech will cut the stomach and use some liquid to wash, then u no need to use my method above... im not sure abt the price cos i nv let mech wash the stomach de.... i use the method above to do... :cheeky:

by the way u wont see a electric start bike have the black2 sticky sticky thing lo...
