Honda NSR150SP Riders

Hi all,

I am looking forward to get a SP soon after i take my TP test soon (provided i pass). However i heard from one of my friend that parts for SP is getting difficult to find and many of his friends have sold their SP or even KRR.

My friend recommended to get a kup kia but i really like the outlooks of a sport bike and definitely a SP which is an eyeturner and affordable ride for a student like me. I am not sure of how reliable his information is and i don't have much friends that rides..so i hope to be enlightened by any of the bros here on this.

Erm... I dun tink SP is an eyeturner leh... Unless it's a SP2 ! Juz my opinion..

depend on yours choice. i could list a fact here. SP Fc about 18km/Liter to 24km/Liter. Kub kia roughly about 4Xkm/liter and abv. =X And wear and tear parts slightly cheaper.

Ok got the points raised by the replies, no rich parents la .. Actually i wanted a sports bike myself, just for a bit of commuting. I'm working part time as well during weekends and saving money also for a while already ..for my first bike, maybe a SP! Not really gonna cover a lot of distance because my sch is very near where i stay. Not my main priority about how fuel efficient it is compared to kup kia (because SP is a sports bike) but am worried about the bike replacement parts ( the cost and availability). My question now is since SP being an old bike, are replacement parts still easily available just like other jap bikes?

Actually did considered 4 stroke bikes like cbr 150 (forgot which year's model) but didn't look the skinny look. Neither do i have the money to get the new cbr 150 because will be enlisting in about a years time. Not worth because cant ride much and not worth laying up a new bike.

Maybe if im lucky, a good condition SP that i can use for a year will do. These are some of the reasons i came to consider SP.

okay. meaning.. my monthly salary that i earn from my part time.. almost fully use for repairing my SP. i in bad luck or what, all wear and tear issue come together. =X slowly fix part by parts. =X

u work part time, and school is new .. sounds logic to get sp

but .. u enlisting in a year yet you wont know where u are posted ?

so I still feel , get a kup kia.. parts cheap , service cheap, dun really need to care abt servicing wan la..

so If your camp is far away from home , the ampunt of money u pay for fuel is cheap cheap

besides maybe 1 year time petrol increase to 1 litre 3$ ??

 

parts for sp is cheap and plenty lo, and u still got vtec88 to look for parts

just unlucky luh. alot thing give way, till i LL need to go repair it or change to 2nd hand for cheaper solution.

Hi, anyone can share with me about the process of selling a bike? like what the buyer and sell have to do, like insurance, transfer etc? and do i have to inform the insurance company im not renewing insurance or just ignore it?

 

And does insurance usually increase? I have to renew my insurance for the 2nd year next mth, and i was expecting the premium to be lower as im off my p-plate now, but it didnt decrease but even increase about $60. Any opinion on this?

Btw dk if this helps, but i got my bike at 18yo and im now 19 (maybe age?) and my insurance letter states that i got a hire purchase company? idk whats that, but i did pay the full amount to the shop i bought from.
