Does every geninue Window Xp require a COA and product key to activate the Program?

Hmm .. i don't really get your question but from what I know Windows will auto detect for you.

COA = Certificate of Authenticity, is that what you're referring to?

 

In social talk, COA is just that little shiny holographic sticker stating that this disc came from Microsoft itself. But I don't think that this really matters to what you're concerned about.

 

Basically, for Windows XP to work, you have to

1. Supply a "product key" during the initial setup phase.
   
2. ...within the 30 day grace period, activate it.
   
3. activate it again if you do huge changes to your computer
   (such as changing the motherboard, adding huge amounts of RAM)
   

It has to go through these steps in this order. Meaning to say, if #1 cannot be done, you can't go on to #2.

 

NOTE: There is no "activation" step for Volume Licensing [aka Corporate; for company use only]

correct, and if you wanna install the updates from microsoft, it will need to authenticate ur xp. no worries, just let it.

 

if u cant activate it online, jus do it via any phone. number to call will be there when u click activate via phone.
