yeah bro

riding habits are crucial to FC.

i normally travel 80-90 everydae

once in a while open vtec

gives mi about 21km per litre.

& btw,

travelling 80-90 along expressway

is better den travelling on small roads with alot of stop-go

stop-go.

correct mi if im wrong bros.

No point tail-gating me.

Im already on the left lane.

try ur next full tank & maintain 6 rpm or 90km/h without opening vtec, than u can get above 300km. fuel consumption shld be around 20 - 22km per ltr :thumb:

120km/h meant that vtec open liao. And if that is your normal riding style, I'm surprise that 18L can even last you 280km. Try going at 90-100km/h. Shld get you a healthy 20-22km/L

Seems like you like to constantly open vtec and thus the high FC...

Btw, what's your front and rear tyre pressure?

Bro i pump my tyre 42 psi rear and 32 psi front...

Your rear tyre pressure is fine.

Maybe you should try increase the front tyre pressure to 36 psi.

Front 36 psi and rear 42 psi are recommended when you are using recommended front 120/60 ZR17 (55W) and rear 160/60 ZR17 (69W) tyres.

does different petrol gives different mileage..?

for my spec1, riding at 90km/h constant..

*caltex abt 375km

*shell v-power abt 320km

*esso/mobil abt 375km

all the above are the most expensive petrol used..

and all top up abt 16 litres..

so, any comment guys..?

your FC very good loh..!!

for me, I anyhow ride is 19km/L.. ride slow never open vtec at all, 20.5km/L..

petrol may differ a bit from the additives they add bah..

izzit because of your tuning? last time my spec 1 before tuning also about 19km per liter after tuning i having a 24km per liter hope tt helps

Posted

tuning done.. more to pickup.. that's why FC abit high..

not complaining, cuz greater power comes higher FC..

but read thru and some actually suggest Dyno/Kenso jets with proper tuning may result in good power and good FC..

I change my gear between 4000 and 5000rpm...

suggest u try changing gear between and 3k-4k rpm and monitor ur FC again. check ur tyre pressure regularly too. as far as cruising is concerned, try not to go above 110 kph for extended periods cos that's when the vtec is abt to open. doesnt mean once u open vtec ur FC will be crap, dat's the wrong concept. but revving ur engine to a high rpm constantly will lead to a worse FC.

mine is a 7 month old specIII..

fuel consumption wise

380-385 km for 15l of esso 5000

fully stocked bike, usual travel speed 80-95kmph on expressway.

but your FC seems to be a bit on the high side. carb tuning should do the trick i guess, as mentioned by the others.

my rides!

2003-2004 - phantom TA150 (FU6637S)

2004-2005 - nsr150 sp (FT6387T)

2005 - cb400 spec2 (FV1511Z)

2005-2006 - yamaha sparkx 110 (FZ9???Z)

2006-2007 - cb400 spec3 (FZ9???Z)

2007- ??? - GSXR600 K4 (FK????R)

Mine Vtec III (parallel import)also, 2 years+ FuLL tank 18L can go 350km but the fuel indicator "running" like "xiao" dun dare to ride further more .

350km/ 18L = 19L/km is that normal or high FC.

Im using V-power too., but SG v-power will usage fast compare to M'sia do your agree ?

19km/L is considered abit on the high side. A healthy bike should give 20-22km/L with sensible riding style.

Bro i got a brand new bike and its like drinking petrol way too much.... i used it for abt 3 mths... its a spec 3. My bike fuel gauge when it left one bar, i top up abt 13.87 litre of petrol, with that amount of petrol i covered 217 km.

Let say full tank 18 litre, my bike can go only 281 km. so 1 litre of petrol i can go only 15.64 km! Im using sg v power, riding style 100 km/hr to 120km/hr average, once in a while wack the bike.... I dont drag my gear so high.. issit normal guys?

Anyway im using ngk iridium plugs and pipercross air filter, maxima ultra, rest of it stock condition.. As for the precondition check of the bike, all in tip top condition.... Tyre pressure, chain slack, all maintained regularly..

Bro out there, i need ur advice... Should i sent my bike for a tuning? Aniway its a new bike, wats wrong? Im happy with my bike, its just the petrol part dats killing me!

Today i just pump shell 95, i goin to see how it fare... Keep u guys updated!

bro,

i got spec 3 too............

my full tank can reach around 300km lor.............

300km for 18L tank

now i'm on 17.5km/L.. :sian:

cannot complain lah, want more power must use more fuel..

the maximum i use is only 17.5L.. dun dare to try any further..

got one very bad experience trying on my last bike.. push bike for almost 5 bus stop.. :giddy:
