just my 2cents,

if gimmicks on fC saving were to work, many bike companies would have bought them over and take advantage of this or would have recommended it in thier manuals. but so far i heard none. best way to keep a good fc is of course recommended changes to ur EO, preventive maintenance on your carbs, pins and lastly a good riding style. f everytime whack ur vtec open of course la ur fc jialat. but if you apply defensive riding and follow the speed limits, it certainly is much safer and softer on ur bike. it sounds boring. but hey, enjoy the ride day after day and reach your destination safely.

normal major roads, what the speed u travel?

Expressway what speed you travel? what RPM you change gear?

Your 400 milage is consist of long distance ride? short distance?

Hope you can share your info and be specific then i could try it out.

Uhm, hello fellow forummers, I need some advise. I know it is not normal for the fuel consumption to be twice its usual value, but what's the worst anyone's got on an almost full tank of gas?

I am about 2 bars away from empty and I am only getting ~170km!

My riding style is pretty much VTEC all the way, see I ride this dec 06' spec 3 to NTU everyday from my house along jalan bahar, I average about 15km everyday (because I go home whenever time permits)

Now my question is: If I have my VTEC on even at gear 2-4 between traffic lights, will my FC be as bad as it is now?

My last service was close to 1.5months ago. Eveything on the bike is stock except the yoshi cyclone endcan at the back.

My advice stop being worry about what the mileage at 2 bar.

But instead take notice when it's left 1 bar, this is where u need to take note when the start of the fuel bar start running from left to right or the other way around.LOL. That when you know u just hit reserve. Means you have 3L to play with.

That way you can estimate 15l = ?? KM, and judge how much you can travel on your reserve.

The bike on REALLY LOW LOW LOW PETROL. the bar would have a running light from the center to left and right. if im not mistaken.

**correction... spec3 vtec opens at 6800rpm-7000rpm

**average spec3 fuel consumption is arnd 23-24km per litre.

23km/litre x 15litres = 345km

345-350km is when my bike fuel gauge goes running from left to right(it hit reserves)

reserve fuel is another 3litres, so u do the math!

btw my riding style is changing gear around 5500rpm-6000rpm. opens vtec depending on my mood.. haha

using leovince endcan only...

cheers

Don't like te sound of my fc at all. 200/10ish liters should give me an aproximate of 19ish km to the liter. Not good. But to get the endcan to sing.. That's what you have to do!!

hi bro,

my style of riding usually nv drag much when top up full fuel.. small roads n expressways also travel, i change gear at abt 4k rpm.. expressways speed average 100km/h cruising..

only when my fuel left 2 bar then i will start to drag for vtec open which 6500 to 7000 rpm and also expressways abt 120km/h till reserve tank..

maybe u can try it out? cheers...!!!

Hi all, things to share abt too...

Riding specII with BlueFlame Endcan and Dyno jet kit.

Change gear between rpm 4k-5k+. V-tec open ard rpm 6k+

Heavy on expressways, moderate riding on normal roads and always open V-tec when left with 1bar to spare.

Highest Milage 350km, on average 330km.

So experience bros, my fuel consumption considered normal?

Life's short, ride safe.

Wah..... drooling... I think the highway is giving you better fc. Last time my workplace and my home only 4 traffic lights away. 250km on avg everything stock

Best is run till reserve and pump 15L into tank and gauge from there.. short distance and highway makes alot of diff provided your bike has no leakage. fc is a headache issue.. your hand that control the throttle, long distance, jams, leakage and bike conditions all plays a part. I also wished my bike can go 400km before reserve but seems its not coming true for me. hehehe. if fc extremely high then need to take care. avg 260km ~ 300km is acceptable for me.

i always maintain my tyre pressure everytime i pump petrol so thats once a wk. im not sure wat kind of servicing i nd to do. if i can get it to run another 30km, im happy sia. mostly on normal roads le.

thanks bros for the replies. next time i will gauge before reserve. but i got a feeling i need to do some servicing.
