For 2b sports bike tzm, I tried before 120/70... That's the max.. For scrambler, not sure... But why u wan so big tyre for? Scrambler cornering not good, u wanna corner, get a sports bike... Big tyres are for more traction when cornering...

use your bike's standard tyre size. designers spend a lot of expertise on r & d. what do you think? you are smarter than them? performance differences can be more easily achieved by changes to the tyre compounds ( brand / model ) than by tyre size.

oh no, please no misunderstand i am NOT trying to pick up a fight again with a very matured guy ( i only very immatured kid ) but...

one of the biggest myths in sg is many riders prefer sotong thin tyres thinking it makes them go faster on the straights ( why do straight line dragsters use such thick tyres then? ) whereas many others use 'thicker' tyres to 'corner better' ( this myth is even more common in sg ). i recalled someone on another thread who was very perceptive retort back " why not use truck tyres?" hahaha, that guy was one of the real experts who is clear minded & know the truth. sorry forgot your name , my friend but you are so right!

furthermore, if you use oversized tyres, you got to watch your swingarm & many other things, most expensive is your gearbox, not a very good tradeoff.

+/- a bit ( bigger / smaller ) a tiny bit is no problem, just try not to change the size by too much.

again, old rule is don't ask me why, go try yourself & you can tell me why already, what for i need to tell you so long story?

Because dragster is running a high power engine with limited distance to achieve top speed therefore they need the wide tire for maximum power transfer? While a road bike have in practical term speaking unlimited amount of road to accelerate? My guess...

I think a wide tire will help depending on the goal but there will always be a point of diminish return and eventually negative performance if the tire is beyond the capacity of the bike design. I do agreed sticking somewhere close to the original is a better choice unless there is some mod to balance the overall.
