Hi anyone out the in the motorbike world noes if its illegal to install speakers on a motorbike?...

as i sent a email to mda n have yet to recieve a reply frm them...

as i read frm their site.

Vehicle Radio Licence

A Vehicle Radio Licence is required for any radio receiver installed in a vehicle. A new Vehicle Radio Licence, is valid for a period of one year from the date of application and is renewable on a half-yearly or yearly basis thereafter. The annual licence fee payable for a Vehicle Radio Licence is S$27.

You may apply and make payment for your Vehicle Radio Licence online by Credit /Debit Card (eNets Credit), Internet Banking (eNets Debit) or Flexipay. Click here to apply for your Vehicle Radio Licence.

You may also transact online at the e-Citizen Helper outlets located across Singapore at Community Centres/Clubs near your home and NTUC Income Branch offices during operating hours.

Alternatively, you may apply for a vehicle radio licence at any post office with your identity card or passport. The Vehicle Radio Licence should be applied for in the name of the vehicle's registered owner.

If you don't have a radio receiver you DO NOT need to apply for licence.

But if they checked your MP3 or Handphone got radio, then they can summon you.

Make sure your bike only got speakers, amp and non-radio MP3 player.

If you install a Pioneer/Kenwood system that CAN receive radio, but you NEVER use the function - You still need to pay the licence fees.

Remember the licence is called RADIO Licence....not Play Sound Licence!
