My black plastic looks new because I applied ArmorAll once a month.

I use Simoniz Bumper Black for my black plastics, including Givi box.

I feel it gives better black and protection for plastics as it is for outdoor items. Also it doesn't make the plastics/rubber too smooth. I also use it for foot area....

This item can be bought from Autobacs or Home Fixit or reputable DIY shops. About $10-15, I think.

I feel the bike is quite light in the front when having pillion at the back. It is quite difficult to control. Anybody here with similar situations and how you guys adapt to it?

I found that i could handle it better if i open throttle when moving off... so i don't wobble, but if people don't know better, thought I rushing off somewhere like that... so fast for what?? :sian:

Would you guys wanna meet up next weds after work? To discuss on our new/old ride, and to meet fellow SYM GTS riders.

I'll start first.

I'm not around, you guys have fun!

Haa... its nice of you to reply... anyway, no response from anybody so the meet up didn't materialized.

Since I've been thinking about it and a few people have mentioned it, I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Our SYM has a 5 way adjustable spring tension rear suspension. It is set at 3 (mid way) from the factory. Seems most want it stiffer so just use a pair of adjustable pliers and turn the metal tube that holds the spring clockwise. Looking at the rear suspension from the back of the bike, you'll see a notch on the coilovers-turn the coilovers so that the body of the coilovers is raised one step. The coilover is kept in place by the notch. Do the same adjustment for both sides! This will put more tension in the spring and prevent bottoming out when carrying a pillion, especially over bumps.

Durable = how much time, effort money you want to spend to maintain it.

How do you define durable? Generally it's the same, the bikes are there to last.

cost of parts, roughly the same, but I tink machine price Sym looks better. But how long you intend to keep?

I just changed my stock rear shock @ Nam wah 2 week ago. They cost me $195 nett while outside selling ard$260.

Heard Yss is good, however short live as it goes soft easily.

@alex: Bro , maybe u can provide some review after trying Yss. If its good, next time I also change Yss ;)

@ Max: I changed my brake pad @ future scootering for $35. Seem ex to me. Didn't managed to find the best deal, so Kakis !!! Must share share ur lobang with us ;)

Hey Max, can you share with us when is the time to change auto clutch? Slow pick up and power loss? Trying to determine the time for me to change it. Btw which motor diam u went for the clutch? Stock clutch ar?

YSS suspension is higher than our stock suspension and it's stiffer as well, I'd adjust the compression to the softest but it's still very stiff, bounce very little on bumpy roads, causing me to have very bad backache after a short distance ride.

My personal experience with this pair of shocks.

Me too...just now wife telling me that she can smell rubber burn at the below rear wheel...

Mine too and I send it to future to check. The mechanic found out there's a small hole under the engine that cause my engine oil to leak, he claimed that this is an indicator that the water pump seal is broken and need a replacement. He's charging me $250 for it, take about 2-3hrs. I left without fixing it as I was in a rush. After a few days, there's no more burnt smell and no more leak. Don't know if the mechanic's claims are true. Any bros can advise? Thanks in advance!

every bike will serve you differently. All will depends on how u ride and take care of the bike. go read the reviews of each bike and choose wisely.

however, you can go down to SYM and KYMCO showrooms to find out more too.

Do search for "Kymco Sg" in facebook and give us a "Like"

Hi all,

I collected my GTS200 recently and right now have done about 320km. I'm still running in the engine and wanted to ask fellow owners - is it normal the rpm hovers around 6000 when you travel around 60-70km/hr? Kinda scary for me, maybe I'm not used to seeing RPM@6000 constant.

Secondly, the bike only move off after 4000RPM, again is this normal?

PS - I've not ridden a bike for xx years. Pardon me for the dumb qns.

Hi 1ririz,

If it's any consolation, my situation is the same as you where it hovers around 6250-6750 when doing 60+ to 70+kmh. Mine only starts to move when it's 4000+RPM as well.

Hi Melvyndb,

Tks for the reply. Yes, actually its around 6300.

BTW I've edited my post on the distance travelled so far. Should read as 320km instead of 230km. Managed a total of 345km on my first full tank. Squeezed in 12.5l...very good fuel consumption in my opinion. :p

NP.

Yeah, good FC, but i guess i never heed the advice and frequently go slightly above 7000+RPM to overtake vehicles. Hence, i did on avg 300KM after 3rd petrol pump with 1 bar remaining. :cheeky:

but i remember first pump I did roughly 330KM before pumping 2nd time...

I'm always above the 7k rpm. Just finished my run in. But the fc is not very good hahaha. But I don't put it under too much stress.
