Hi, guys. Need some help. My 2009 gts200 has been trouble free. However, today when I press the starter button and no sound at all, of course my bike didn't crank. I on the headlights and press the horn and it works.- Not the battery. I successfully kick started the cold bike and rode off. Nothing usually noticed during the trip.

When I reach home, turn off the engine and press the start button - no sound. I kick start again, then press the start button and can hear the starter sound, while the engine was running. I then then press the cut off switch, the engine died - not the cut off switch. I kick start again , and lower the side stand engine died - not the side stand switch. I press the start button again and no sound.

can anyone suggest what may be the problem. Anyone came across this problem before ?

I am also looking for full servicing at the same time. Any workshop with reason price and skill to Recommend ? Thanks

If you press start button did u hear a click sounds ? Maybe your starter motor is weak . Or the starter relay/magnet . When engine running sure u can hear the starter motor kicked in. Because there is no resistant . I can give u quick look.

When i press the start button, there is no No click sounds at all. No nothing. Everything else on the lcd panel as normal. No indication of coil failure, battery charges well. I am suspecting CDI .

What you mean by quick look ?

Or maybe the cut off on side stand sometime giving problem . But then if u say when engine start you can start the starter motor clicking maybe sinting else. The starter motor also have starter magnet before connect to boost the voltage. The position is below ur seat on right side.

As per the above mentioned, suggest to inspect the following in sequence:

starter switch(connectivity)

fornt & rear brake switch(connectivity)

starter relay

starter motor

Thanks guys, the starter button appear to be fine. It responded during engine running. I hate electrical problems. The common ones are easy to identify. But when even pressing start button also no sound. The mechanic and boss will suggest all sorts money making suggest, maybe this , maybe that. Change already cannot, then say must be something else. Still cannot, say scooter like that one lah.

Anyone know why GTS200 seems to have such strong wind feeling when travelling at 90-100? My old phantom didnt seem to have such strong windy feeling, and it doesnt even have windscreen!

Could it be possible the wind screen actually direct more wind into my helmet? Perhaps it is better i remove the windscreen?

I find it so strange that at the same speed, the windy feeling of GTS 200 vs Phantom TA200 is so different...

Thx for the link bro.

I read online, my problem is actually called "buffeting".

The windshield reduce the wind feeling on body and arms... but direct a lot of the wind on to top of helmet. So it sounds very noisy. Thats how the stock windshield works.

Taller windshield should help, as it direct the air ABOVE the helmet...

I think I might go buy one...

My FC is around 28 to 30 km per litre. Ever reach 380 till light blink :)

This the tall windscreen
