Hey guys! I need your recommendation. Considering to get a scooter once i finish my TP in 2mths. I'm new to the bike scene and looking for a fuel-efficient, low spare part cost and comfortable scooter. I shortlisted these four which would you recommend:

1. Scomadi TL200 Turismo Leggera
2. Gilera ST200 Runner
3. Yamaha Aerox 155
4. Yamaha NMax 155

I'm leaning more towards the scomadi, looks cool and retro. :D. But as a Singaporean, got to be practical and cost savy and I'm a new rider. Don't want to burn my pocket.

Also should I get a Brand New or 2nd hand. If 2nd hand how many years should i be looking at?

Enjoy the holiday season guys! Stay Safe & Mask on!!

All your choices look good, BUT you will be riding it so you must be comfortable with it.
For now let's narrow it down a little...
1) Any intention for 2A thereafter? This will helps if you will to get a 2nd hand or brand new. (Also look into resale value if you are selling it for a 2A bike).
2) Look at the Maintenance and Repair cost of your 4 choices.
3) Storage, choice of bike with under seat carriage/ compartment may save you some cost over a big bulk top box.

You sure you want to get an automatic transmission over manual gear shifting? Hahaha.

@JJBuBBle Thank for the reply!

Guess i will have to test drive all the 4 bike before deciding which one I'm most comfortable with..😅

1. Yes, I guess i will take my class 2A then 2 eventually. Let' see...

2. Thanks! will do that. Is there any website for forums you able to point me to.. or its from any bike shop which i have to enquire at.?  i guess i will find that out..no worries

3. YES! YES! storage is so important. omg i overlook that part. I will get the bike with the most compartment... been looking at them.

Auto or manual? wah tough...i love manual cars..... for bike i don't know...guess i have to try before deciding....  btw what bike would you recommend a newbie if they just got their 2b today?

have u passed ur 2b yet? good luck! as you go up the license class.. the options for bikes become more and more, u will be spoilt for choice.

u can check here on sbf but not much info on the newer bikes yet.. guess have to wait for more kakis here to post

in terms of storage from big to small will be scomadi.. nmax.. aerox/runner i think so. but scooter easy to put top box so not much of an issue. not like my cb150r put top box not nice so just have to make do

if you enjoy biking and manual gear change then go for manual. otherwise i tell my frens also.. if just to scoot around sg to travel from place to place.. a auto scooter is much more convenient

@DayLewis
Point 2 will be your home work, of course Yamaha will have more selection of workshop.
I will recommend newbie to consider a pre owned nake bike if they are going for their 2A one year later.
Unless you are confident on manual transmission for your class 2A and or your class 2A & Class 2 bike will be automatic, than auto it will be.

@snsd555 No reason, actually thought the 4 i listed should be cheaper in price, also considering the Yamaha Fino. I might be wrong. im still looking around.

I wanted something which don't burn my pocket. And if the bike is down or whatsoever the spares are easily available locally.

Both the Yamahas will be fine for spare parts and maintenance, don't worry about that. NMax has a slightly larger storage underseat than the Aerox.

Scomadi finding parts might be difficult.. Rather you got for a Lambretta if you're looking for a cheaper Vespa alternative.

For Gilera.. Most powerful 2B scooter but it's getting up there in age and a lot of examples in the market has been trashed so be on the lookout for a well-kept model if you decide on the ST200 Runner.

I'd recommend either of the Yamahas personally.

Any reason why you shortlisted the Scomadi instead of a Vespa or Lambretta?

They all look pretty similar to be honest.

Actual, I was wondering that too. All are retro bikes, guess it could be the design & print Scomadi do stand out a little on looks?
If not could be maybe pricing??? as Scomadi was made in Thailand if I remember correctly.
