Hi guys!

Created an account out of desperation but in hope of learning a lot from here! Just a bit of a background from me :) Passed my 2B license back in January this year, got my r125 late January, got into an accident one month later 😕 (0% Liable) and got my back my bike late April this year. The workshop that handled my bike for the claim and repairs was recommended by my Lawyer since they will tank the cost first until the compensation comes in, however, it's a bit weird (for a bike workshop to say) when they mentioned that they don't dare to touch the interior of my bike since they do not know how. Anyways, 3 weeks ago my bike have been overheating, so I went to THcycle to Top up my coolant, which then the overheating stopped, however, 5 days ago, my bike began overheating again, which was weird since I just only topped up my coolant, but I continue riding it up till yesterday because I was busy (Yes I know, amateur mistake) because the overheating indicator kept popping up after only 5 minutes of riding, but this time, the engine light came up if I were to speed. I send my bike to UniqueMotorsports Woodlands to check my coolants because initially I suspected my thermostat or water pump to be faulty, however, upon checking, the mechanic found that my coolant was dried up, so he went to Top it up and check for leaks but there wasn't any. He then proceed to check my oil stick and oh god, the stick was botak bro until the mechanic face palm damn hard. The engine was so dry as if I didn't put engine oil for months, which is not true since the workshop that handled my accident claimed that they Top up engine oil for me free of charge 😕 So they told me that usually for this case, my engine is most likely badly damaged on the inside and that there's no way of knowing the extent of the damages until they open it up, which I refuse because I can't afford to not work Grab since I haven't been able to due to the accident and also because I'm afraid that once they open up, they can't fix it back?! (Since it is damaged?! if it makes sense) So they instead told me to prepare money to overhaul, but since my bike is a r125 and not a r15, they recommend me to get a new bike instead since the parts is seriously hard to get.

So yea :') That's my story. Moving on! After asking around, I compiled a few options that I could choose from.

1) Buy a new bike, most likely r15 v3 😕

2) Engine overhaul in JB, since they can mod parts in (FZ engine most probably)

3) Buy another r125 (cause I love the bike) - but might as well overhaul right?

4) Overhaul in SG (but which workshop to send my r125 to?)

So yes, I really don't know which option I should go for because personally Financially i'm independent and also is a student in RP so y'all can somehow gauge my financial capability. Personally, I would love option 4 since it's the safest but I'm afraid of the downtime since I can't afford not being able to work for too long since the last time it was in the workshop (When I got into an accident) It took them close to 2 months just for headlight and front fairing. So what do you guys think?

Edit: Upon receiving the coolant flush, and the engine oil, my bike began to sound better, but there's an additional flapping sound along with the engine noise, but overall, it feels normal, still being able to ride up till 123km/h. Starting the bike is abit hard, need to press the starter awhile longer than usual and have to throttle at the start, for 2 seconds or so, so that the bike won't die.

if you had Unique have top up the Engine Oil (EO) and coolant, then I would recommend you check and monitor the engine for any kind of leaks..

Check the bottom bolt for EO drain and also the oil filter cover on the right, just in front of the engine top up cover.

for coolant dried up with no visible leak, its most likely a head gasket problem

the engine you have on your r125 is same as my bike which is encountering a problem with the head gasket as well..

i will be looking to replace the head gasket too...

my bike was leaking coolant and after which I check and the EO have coolant mixture and the drained EO was a Milkshake.  checking on the web, its a head gasket problem.
