Yep, I had the pleasure of meeting the legendary Mica, along with many fun people on this chat group!

A lot of the questions that you're having or are about to have are the exact ones which last year's graduates had, and you'll find that almost all of them have been thoroughly answered by Rijac, who's dedicated hours of his life writing tips for new learners. His posts are ridiculously helpful and detailed, and you should trawl through his old posts and print out his advice if you can. They're super helpful. No need to reinvent the wheel when someone has already done all the groundwork for you.

My own motivation came when I was driving down the PIE in my old lancer at 120, when I was overtaken by a manical cbr(600?/1000?) ridden by a petite lady. She was wearing a tight dress, adopting a low tank-hugging posture and practically eating every vehicle around her weaving around us snails with quick flicks of the handlebar (which I now understand to be a countersteer swerve). Though I was already at 120, she disappeared within seconds.

All I could remember was that she had the world's hottest figure, killer skills and bike to match and a crazy badass attitude. I enrolled at SSDC the next day, and went through all the pain you're now experiencing ;)

When I finally passed and got my Honda SP, I happily rode it to my reunion dinner and proudly showed it off to my cousins. They gave me an encouraging but mildly condescending look before showing me their bikes. A Zxr-11 and a blackbird. Each weighed about 2.5 times as heavy (that's actually an underestimate) as the school's Yb125s, and i couldn't even move them...

But we inevitably grow as bikers, and today I and still figuring out the limits of my machine and discovering what a lousy rider I still am after four years. The Busa is a brutal, demanding bike which trains its owner, and I don't think I'll ever stop learning new things about biking.

Welcome to a world of pain, joy, excitement and fulfillment. Never give up now matter how tough the journey may seem. See you on the road!

Dude, how much horsepower did the BOX adds to your SP? HAHAHA

mica, planning to take from cdc or another school?

Probably CDC. My office is just a two minutes ride away from CDC. Walking distance is just 5-8 mins.

It gave the bike an edgy, fusion type feel. Part uncle, part youngster - a clash of identities. It made it an awesome vehicle. Love that box!

with the CDC bikes (even the new ones) you risk going into neutral when shifting up if you are not carrying enough speed. so bear that in mind.

Accelerate quickly to move to gear 2. Actually once your bike is moving you can move up to gear 2 already.

Yep, happened to me countless times. I learned that it's not about why it goes into neutral and how to avoid it, but how to handle it when it happens because it seems always unavoidable..

I always thought that I not kicking up hard enough...only now then I know speed is a factor as well

you actually have more distance than you think but not if you are really slow off the mark. must throttle up briskly and quickly shift. don't be afraid to rev a bit higher than you think is necessary as long as you don't throw the clutch. half clutch is ok.

Hi guys I just went for Prac 1. No experience with motorbikes anywhere, but know how to ride a bicycle.

Failed Prac 1. Emo. :( May I know what's next to learn after coming to a stop from gear 3? The next earliest timeslot for Prac 1 is 2 weeks away, and that's a long time IMO...I wanna get my license within 6 months from registering with CDC :/

After reading threads comparing CDC and BBDC/SSDC, I think I wanna switch to BBDC. Does anyone know if my BTT result is valid if I switch schools?

BTT result is still valid, and if you really want to get your license within 6 months, please do switch schools!

you need to log in to check the available slots often. people will cancel after they pass their lessons.

its is possible to pass within 6 months but you must be diligent in checking for cancellations. i did lesson 1 to 3 in 12 days. but when i first booked my lesson 1 the next available one was 2 weeks away. you should book more than 1 lesson of each lesson but make sure they are 3 days apart so you can cancel. lesson 1 will include going round the main circuit and going up to fifth gear before shifting down and coming to a stop. and the last part of lesson one is doing figure 8 inside the bike nursery area and ending with a u turn. you should easily pass in the second try.

technically, if i didn't fail my first TP i would have gotten my licence within 6 months. some others did it in less at CDC.

I will just switch, because BBDC will provide more slots without requiring me to check 24/7 for cancellations by others. Plus BBDC is near my camp. I only went CDC because my friend recommended it but he took his 2B in a different era...

Don't need to switch schools. 6 months is do-able in CDC, you just gotta be hardworking and stalk the website.

It definitely can be accomplished and depends a lot on learning pace too. But it is not convenient to stalk the website, haha. Furthermore I think other school's prac timeslot is similar to our CR's.

Learning pace? I am a super slow learner. It really depends on how much effort and time you are willing to put in to get the license. Just look at my sissypoo @lovewei. He started off much later than me but we passed on the same date.

Think I'll end up slower than you. Didn't have cycling experience at all
