Currently using the Neotec. Feel like the front is heavy. Chin bar is too protruding compare with normal fullface. Understand Neotec is flip-up. But GT-Air is using the same visor. Wondering GT-Air having the same shape as front protruding too much...?

 

I am a first time rider and the GT-Air is my first helmet so hard for me to compare. On its own though, i dont feel that ir protrudes too much

I asked Chong Aik on Saturday when they are expecting the GT Air. And they replied August!

The GT Air is not a "Good Helmet"... It's a Damn Good Helmet.

I happen to be in Hong Kong when the GT Air just arrived.

Bought one and hand carry it back to SGP.

I've not heard of hopshopgo till now. I've always used Vpost, but of late they have become pretty expensive. Would you happen to know how HopShopGo stacks up? In terms of service, delivery time and rates?

 

HopShopGo is actually ComGatewayUSA branded with paypal. Heard bad reviews about Vpost so have been using Comgateway.

anyway i tried on a GT Air when i was in USA..

 

my Shoei size is M, but the GT Air was super tight and the moment i wore it, i could feel the helmet clamping down on my head.

pain was unbearable.

 

tried on a L and it seemed better. wonder if the model HK sells is an asian-fit?

Perhaps a short review on quality, fitting, noise, aerodynamic, mechanism, comparison... highly appreciate!

Yours the chin-strap is D-ring or the new Micro Ratchet (i called it quick-release)?

I bought my Neotec from Jpn with the micro ratchet. Love it alot!

Think GT air should be in soon. currently using neo tec and j-curise.. really loves the sun shades.

HK stock are Asian fit so we maintain our sizes.

Solid colours were the only one available when i was there.

They don't noe when the design ones are coming in than.

 

Chin strap are the quick secure/release micro ratchet design.

SGP request the double D rings to pass PSB/LTA.

 

GT Air is of a new superior design & construction.

In terms of material used, design of the cushion and construction design of the shell.

These resulted improvement in aerodynamic airflow outside, cooling airflow within, light weight and comfortable fitting.

 

The quick secure/release chin strap and internal sun shade compliment the GT Air as a complete Touring helmet for prolong usage.

 

Overall as expected from Shoei, i personally am very pleased & happy about the Quality, Fit & Performance of the GT Air as compared to my X11, RX7, Syncrotec, Multitec & XD3.

No the GT Air is not a FF version of the Neotec.

 

The only similar design feature they share is the built in intergrated sun shade.

The helmet shell design, shape and air vent are different.

Hi,

Its almost impossible to get a GT AIR right now, Chong Aik is awaiting PSB approval, note that their helmets strap is your normal loop over instead of the ratchet type in the original. Personally i rather not get the PSB sticker approved GT Air and stick to the original strap. Regina has limited stock or no stocks by now, and thats for solid colours only

 

If your looking for wanderer which i would prefer, only way is online,priced at around $800 with shipping. Scary thing is sizing, im pretty sure all shoei helmets are the same size europe or asia, can anyone confirm before i place an order...or anybody wanna wanna share shipping

I assume you are Asian, do not buy from US or EU. My experience from buying a Shoei from USA, the internal shape of the helmet is different. Yes the size is same and correct. But shape is more oval, hurting my Asian rounder head. I think it will be safer to buy from local or HK and Japan.

I m from KL. GT-air here selling RM1800(S$706) for plain color & RM2200(S$863) for graphics. Mostly need to place order & wait for weeks. Thinking of riding down SG for it.

Once I had ratchet type strap (on my Neotec), forget about D-strap! Personally, the only thing making my mind to get GT-air from my Neotec is the chin bar is protrusion & heavy, dragging the helmet downward.
