HI Guys,

Just collect my 2002 model Fazer 2 days back.

FW1595B.

Maybe the ex. owner is here????

Love the ride but need some urgent comments from ALL.

I adjusted the time on the clock but it seems to be resetted by itself.

Example, I ajusted the time from 09:00 to 09:05.

After on and off the switch, it just resetted to 09:00.

Whats could be the problem?

The Digital ODO meter mileage is in Miles or KM?

What is the standard rear sprocket size for fazer 600?

Mine's size 47 which I think is very big???

For your comments, please.

Thank you.

1.could it be the memory batt gone?mayb u can call up hong leong n check wif the mech.

2.u can set the speed on mile/km by holdin the button for 5sec.

3. wow...tat a large spocket...its mean for pick up.stock spocket is size 45.

that piece of bracket that holds the rack at the exhaust can buy online or get from givi shop. or some bike shop that sell givi, u can also find LAB.

that piece comes only together with the top rack. for the side racks, u need to ask for it.

which type u bought? top or side?

I bought the top one. i contacted the seller and he told me thats all he has but i think he still has the piece coz he told me that he has side racks on his FZ6.

Anyway can i buy the piece without buying the side rack? or is it a must to buy it first? Need to buy fast since sch has already started. Inconvenient to carry bag while riding and worse if it rains.

Does your signal lights blink themselves rapidly, and you hear a "rewind" type whirring sound coming from your dash?

It might be the battery going sh1t. Happened to my 2002 FZS600 last time too. ;)

Signal does not blink but when I press the passing high beam switch, sometimes the engine oil and reserve light will light up. It will go away when I release it...

I manage to remedy the clock thingy already.

Yet to try out the mile/km though.

Because my workplace is in Tuas. Previous bike the trip meter was 42km but for this Fazer only about 30++km....

You still riding FZS600?

yes u can just buy the piece. that top rack should come with the bracket. or just go to kelantan lane and do some shopping. :cheeky:

Hi guys, i might be interested in getting a fazer6 and wanted to hear a bit of advice from your fellow fazer riders here, read some of reviews and it was pointed out some issues below:

1. mid-range power, how u guys feels? is it really very weak and need to wack a lot when accelerate, how does it compare to a s4 if u have rode one before

2. front suspension, is it soft and affect cornering confidence?

3. gear box clunky?

4. heavy throttle, this one i agree after i tried a few, at least heavy than s4 but maybe that's the character of yammy bike. But to me should be acceptable

I test ride a few on sale so far, but due to only can ride short dis and low speed, so might not be able to access all the above. Pls give some of your view guys, i am not here to pin point weakness of fazers as all these is i read from mag review, beside this it is definitely a bike ppl will love at first sight and one of the most popular all rounder bike in europ so can't be wrong in overall, just want to listen to some voice from the actual users :cheer: :cheer:

mid range power? a lil twist and away u go:cheeky:

2. front suspension, is it soft and affect cornering confidence?

this is the only drawback i have on fz6, would prefer an inverted front fork...but seems like theres a cheaper mod to swap the fz6 front suspension with r6 04 ones..

about cornering confidence, its all about getting use to the "feel".

3. gear box clunky?

I can live with that.

4. heavy throttle, this one i agree after i tried a few, at least heavy than s4 but maybe that's the character of yammy bike. But to me should be acceptable

hm..weight heavy?

the thing about FZ6 huh, at 120 u twist full throttle, the power don't come immediately. my 04 model, the sudden surge comes around 140. It comes so suddenly and strongly, u have to close the throttle a little. Hits 170 180 pretty easily, and starts to crawl to 200 n above. Max i ever tried is 210, beyond which I have never tried, although my previous owner said he did 240. The mid range is definitely acceptable. Unless u like that 299 thing, the mid range of 90 odd HP is more than enough for the average rider. The best part is of course the 22km/L consumption and fuel range of almost 400km per tank on normal SG riding.

my last few tours have been done cruising at a sedate 120-130km/h average. If u are slow rider on the NSH like me, u will find 20 odd km/L at that speed on tours rather economical.

I don't have any issues with the front fork. If you don't like soft forks, using a heavier fork oil will help as it gives a stiffer feel.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

nice to read this thread quietly without posting and slowly learn more about my DREAM bike! haha. damnit, still so far for me!

hm, btw, how many of you are students here? really thinking about finances tho. i'll still be in uni by the time i get class 2. but this bike really rocks with its 22km/l fc! guess the only money issue is with getting the bike itself and insurance.

Ya think have to try out the FZ1 first before decide, cl2 really got lots of bikes to choose until you confuse yourself haha :):dozed:

Well...I think if you tried 1000cc, you might not want to go 600cc.

Ya, ya, 600 is more than enough for Singapore. But the same can be said of 200cc or 400cc.

More power cant be wrong right... :D

Just be prepared to fork out slightly more for price and on-goign costs.

No lah,

went to Krabi to visit a friend there instead :D

By the way, met a couple of SG riders in Kanchanaburi who are on their way to Laos. Heard from them the Laos border allows foreign bikes already. One of the bikes in that group is a FZ1 :D

hehe yea will definitely go NSH once in a while but primarily i need a bike for transport. judging by the amazing fc of fz6 as well as the comfort of the sitting position, fz6 is really a practical yet fun bike for my needs =)
