guys yesterday saw in newspaper about the accident at PIE at diary farm road... R6 both dead. sad case. gal very young 21 died on impact, guy 37 named aziz army regular being crushed by a msian truck.

let mi state more clearly wif the lighting issue

usually when i start bike all lights are off....

so i start bike

crank once start ok....

crank once start cannt start

so crank 2nd time meter numbers liek odo time etc black out like when u juz on the igntion key

(inside the trip A& B & time all remain up to date)

sum times 1st crank oso like tat depends....

 

or if i on my headlight & crank start abv mentioned prob will occurs....

or if bike already started (lights all off) then i switch on all lights

the meter willbehave like the abv mention.....

 

stator coil gd....

recitifer gd....

batt ???

 

any idea if it is a oem prob (meaning all gen 1 fazer are like tat)

or is my batt gt prob....?

 

the stupid shop at SHUN LI Industrial park say all fazer gen1 behave like tat...

wat rubbish!!!!!

does nt make sense....

if i P plate mayb ....

i riden & own so many bikes....(number 14 till nw)

haiz....

 

best is the engine warranty !!!!!

Mates let mi ask u a simple qns....

Timing chain & clutch area where isit...?

"inside" or "outside"

 

batt & my chain sprocket "outside" i LL

but.....

 

o well....

luckly bike overall appearance & engine cond still ok......

there nt much shop doing buying & selling of bikes over there...

tink they may b the onli 1 less dailem agent of course....

cannt say name ....

i work part time at bike shop & i noe all their tatics....

wat sue u slandering etc...

if you have so many year experience, then you would be able to pick out the problems even before buying, I think...

 

Anyway chances are your batt is in need of replacement real soon. The next bad thing to happen is that when you start your bike, everything goes black like you just turned on your ignition and that your clock resets meaning it goes back to midnight...

 

Bike facing forward, front sprocket on the left, clutch on the hight... Cam chain on the right, Cam chain tensioner on the right, directly under carb boot no. 4.

 

I really dun understand what you mean by inside or outside. Cos unless you have a dry clutch, it is inside the engine, sharing the same oil sump.

 

Battery is definitely under your seat.

Bros out there i'm going to get myself an FCE from Ivan. I heard that we have to call his shop personally rite? Any timings that I should call them due to the time zone difference? Do they accept credit card payment and what are the costs and charges? How long will it take to be shipped to Singapore??

Then how many km den go change Eo , is it 1000 , 5000, den last 8000, den change good Engine oil -maxima. And oil filter is it every alternate oil change den changed too? pls enlightened me.

And running in can go how fast only? how many RPM?

Around 1.2 should be just nice. I am doing 500, 1000 and 3000 for running in, after which follow manual i.e. every 7000 and oil filter change on every EO changed, you can choose not to change oil filter on every EO changed, maybe alternate or whatever, it's all up to individual. For the 1st 500, I did not go more than 5k of rpm, thereafter, between 500 to 1000, I did not go more than 7k of rpm.

Think insurance is creeping up across the board.

Learnt about it when i was quoted ard $900 for a 6 yr old Gen 1 FZ1 for 3rd party Fire and Theft.

Cant remember it's this exp last year.

Anyway, you posts makes for giddy reading. I would prefer it if you can structure your posts in a better manner. :)

 

For the battery, what is your battery reading at idling?

I would think meter reset are caused by weak batt or idling too low cos it happened to me. Same FZ1 gen 1.

 

1) Let the bike run at idle.

2) Press your brake lights.

3) Press your hi beam.

If the clocks reset when the lights are activated, probably means the batt about to go.

Try your readings on a voltmeter to get the actual reading.

 

You probable wont notice it when you are riding, cos the battery is charged up when the engine is working hard. But if you let it idle, you might see it.

I'm not too sure actually, did not compare in reality. Just a method which I'm used to, unless I think, we "open" up the engine to see whether there differences not? Haaa... Ok ok, please forgive my nonsense. :D
