Just to check with the riders who have fixed the radiator cover, does it really serve the purpose of preventing small small stones from hitting the radiator? Any problems encountered when it's been fixed on? Example the heat does not get dissipated more easily compared to when the radiator cover is not fixed on etc.

Radiator guard or mesh do help to prevent small stones from hitting onto your radiator. i bought and fixed the radiator mesh from godsend for about 2 to 3 months. I was monitoring the engine temperature and noticed when the wire mesh is on, the temp on my bike did not drop fast enough. The different in temp when you fix the mesh and when u did not fix it is about 3 to 4 degree. I believe the radiator mesh holes and too small to cool down the engine. Maybe can fix some wire mesh with slightly bigger holes and try it yourself. If u dun mind the extra heat, then i can sell you my radiator mesh from godsend with yamaha logo and fazer words. it for sale for $30/- cash and carry. still in very good condition.

the same usual suspects lor.

Either seng kwang or Ah Ann lor

i thought of going to seng kwang also.. but a rather extensive dismantling of motorcycle parts are also required (nothing in the engine though), they can do also right?

i want to fit r6/r1 inverted forks onto my bike.. need quite an extensive amount of customised work.. so far in international forums a handful have done it.. but there was no in depth instructions on how it was done.. potential obstacles i thought of so far:

-triple clamp, need to use r6/r1 clamps.

- if use r6/r1 clamps, how am i going to mount my handlebar?

- if dont use r6/r1 clamps, how to customise/mod my fz6 clamps to fit? (eg, r6 forks are 41mm, fz6 is 43mm, shims need to be added to fill in that 2mm)

-throttle cable, brake lines going to be affected?

-fitting of fz6 fender might be a problem

-brake rotors

-headlight fairing & fairing stay going to be affected or not?

-steering tube might have problem fitting

-ignition mount probably need to be fabricated

now, any valuable, constructive comments will be appreciated. not sure if any1 here thought of such a project before.

wow that's a major one!

have u talked to someone in our usual email listing? u know who i meant la...

he do have some great ideas on such cus i ever chat with him during RT... lol...

but basically, i'm also pretty sure you seen it in international forums, to do such, you might have to go to the extend to replace the whole fork, cramp, wheel assembly, that may includes cables etc...

for fairing & fairing stay, not too sure... are they using the fz6n or fz6s for such mods?

time, effort and cost can say it's going to be astronomical where most people will just tell you to either change a bike or to change ohlins or wadsoever... but if you can have easy access to all these parts, it's worth it...

anyway, i smelled a bomb coming up to u... cheers bro!

haven email yet.. but the person who have fitted the old r6 forks is aware that there's alot of work to be done if he were to fit inverted forks as i shared with him what i found out. i am asking here to see if any1 knows any workshop that is confident of doing this mod.

yes basically alot of work.

most other countries overseas dont have fz6n or fz1n. lol. and they are absolutely crazy about modifying their fz6 to streetfighter style like the fz6n.

yeah i know pple are going to tell me change bike.. but, like what bike? ohlins only have fork springs for fz6. if ohlins have cartridge kit i wouldnt go to such extend. but still, not radial brake calipers leh!

nah this is just a thought, its the only mod that have eluded me due to the extensive amount of work to be done. IF i can ever get this done, its seriously my last project on this bike. otherwise, current setup works fine.
