installing a PC will not solve the backfire issue, the most THE MOST it will help to reduce the backfire.

a PC with custom mapping is to 'tune' the bike with the mods, better response, smoother power band & such.

it will definitely not eliminate the backfire, at least not 100%. been there, done that =(

yes, that is correct.. you just can't have the best of both world, but only to compromise..

 

best is to go for custom map, if not, pre-customed maps by other bikers with similar mods are also good enough.

I need the expertist here about fault codes and what they mean, as i'm still puzzled by my issue:

My engine trouble light is on while im riding. Can someone help me regards my

de-cat but w/o PC installed? that's a full system already.

 

you are running too lean with additional airflow in.. install a PC and send in for dyno or load in a map configured for your set up should eliminate the prob.

 

zack, please do not expect by installing a PC + dyno will solve & eliminate your popping/backfire problem...

it's recommended to at least have your air induction system blocked + air box modification + aftermarket air filter + cables re-routing (optional) before installing a PC w dyno...

like wad dragonforce had mentioned, do all your mods before you add in your PC w dyno, unless you have lots of dyno monie to throw away...

 

then why after you installed PC and done all those mods, you still get backfiring?

 

FYI, there are custom maps available online with diff configurations for downloads. sending the bike into dyno is to maximise the full range of power available for the bike. no bikes are the same, even with the same mods, same year, same model. you do not have to send in for dyno for every mod you do on your bike.

 

but then again, are you able to utilise 100% of the bike's power?

i'm not sure what mods you have on your fz1, base on stock, do you get popping sound? let's share...

if yes, have you done such on your bike by installing PC blah blah blah?

 

let's also share on what have you done and what had you been experiencing on your fz1 rather than plain talks?

 

lastly, do define what is utilizing 100% of the bike power in your point of view... in terms of wad and wad and wad?

Code 46: Power Supply to the fuel injection system is not normal - Malfunction in charging system.

 

Get your magneto coil, rectifier and battery checked.

I just de-cat my pipe last two weeks ago. Engine feel much smoother and pick-up is better. I saw the honey-comb is actually made of metal and most for emission purposes. Overall worth to do it!!Cheers.
