Hmmm... Gen2 rear tyre pressure seems to be higher than Gen1 in that case. As far as I can recall, the Gen1 manual recommends 40psi (280kPa) at the rear, even for high speed/high load. Or at least, that's the setting I've been using since day 1 :angel:

What do you mean by open exup valve? Disable and keep it open by messing with the cables?

If we believe the manufacturer's advert, the the exup valve should help with the low end, although I've read that the valve operation is quite complicated, i.e. open throttle, valve not neccessarily open, depends on speed, rpm, etc.

 

Anyone tried disabling and feeling a diff? Or those who have changed to slip on (without PC tuning), do you feel the low end getting worse? Not looking at top end, just the low end, part throttle operation.

 

Basically, open Exup valve mean that u disable the cable controlling the Exup valve and turned and left it "open". Once u "open" the valve, u will feel your throttle response more lighter and pick-up more faster.

The EXUP has a tendancy to jam after sometime without maintenance.

 

Interesting. So am I hanging on to the wrong thing; My thought are it may be heavier but a "cleared" stock muffler has many benefits.

The Gen1 has an EXUP valve too, doesn't it? Is it very complicated to disable? As in, can I do it myself, or should I ask a workshop to look at it? I'd prefer getting my hands dirty if it's not too difficult :D

how about pressure for fz6s2? anyone?

 

tyre pressure? normal commuting i will pump 250-260 front 290 rear (after a petrol pump, enjoy the aircon for a while before pumping), so i wont say tyre is cold. track use 31 front 30 rear.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.
