i would say from the looks of it and the quality of it, it's more durable than other brands you can find in the market... if u wan even more durable ones, go Seng Kwang, they use stainless steel ones, structure also more durable...

what bike does ur frn ride? wad is his usual usage?

speaking of racks, i recently saw this naked fz6 with h&b panniers. his boxes literally bouncing up and down! cos his rack was some lousy thin looking metal piece that bends everytime the bike goes up a little or down a little. super scary sia. i half expecting to see one side fall off

Bro ... good one.

You have experience adjusting yours? Have the tools? My ride is too firm so decrease rebound damping?

May need your expertise ...

speaking of racks, i recently saw this naked fz6 with h&b panniers. his boxes literally bouncing up and down! cos his rack was some lousy thin looking metal piece that bends everytime the bike goes up a little or down a little. super scary sia. i half expecting to see one side fall off

currently h&b panniers can only go for 3 types of racks, namely h&b in-house racks, sw-motech racks or fabricated racks (e.g from seng kwang)...

i'd seen all three kinds of racks, used two types of these before... from my experience, the shaky one you mentioned should be its in-house racks...

but according to h&b, it claimed that it's a safety feature to have that variable leeway becus it wants it to auto-drop off upon impact... hahaha...

well... i would say, a price for its quality... :)

mine is still in oem... but adjusted to my required feeling... it still feels pretty good now but a little bit bouncy where my rebound damping is going to max out soon... hence i'm investing in ohlins real soon... :D

tools wise, u can use your stock tools that are being provided... or u can buy aftermarket tools... up to u...

ur ride, what u feel, follow that instructions la... follow what is it as what it said...

but before all these, work on your preload first... u can take reference from the below picture...

yo.. how much you spend at sk for them to fabricate a rack from scratch?

400+ for pannier racks.. so i suppose topbox racks wont cost much more.. should be lesser. baseplate provided for them.

lol. you know me well.. leave bike at workshop for days!?!?! omg..

yes... for top box, u got to provide the base plate for them (or anything that comes with a required adapter/plate)... to fabricate a base plate is way not monie efficient already... hahaha... :D

yes... know u pretty well in this aspect... it's the same as me too... ask me to go out without riding or any convenient transport, it's like asking me not to go out... hahaha...

actually u dun need much courage to do these... jus follow step by step will do... of cus, u got to know how to increase/decrease your preload/compression/rebound settings before you start these... :)

have you check with your VFR folks in the VFR tread on how they do theirs? technically it's the same for all bikes, but some groups may like their settings to be done up in a different way... :)

u go shop, chances that you will need to fork extra monie... if u got monie, y not? :D

but all these are kinda basic troubleshooting skills... it's good to learn... it's like learning to fish rather than asking people to fish for you...

before anything, check ur tyre pressure first. i experienced that before. was thinking to tune the dampening n rebound of the suspension cos feel rather unstable but thot shld chk pressure n pump first cos i usually will leave the bike unridden for quite sometime often. skali after put back the tyre pressure, it seems ok.....but the symptoms are that the bike feels heavy la.......even turning the handle while pushing.....

Can check with u guys, if cornering feels not stable means need to stiffen the shock or.loosen?

Tyre pressure should be no problem as I regularly monitor and pump as recommended.. The feeling is like the bike is sliding thru the corners.. Couldnt be crosswind ryte?

wah, that's difficult to do la bro but u can slide...i think that's the pro way of entering corner....must ask our mech cum lacer, ah dolf....he's good in both tuning the suspension n sliding into corners.....:thumb:

I have a similar feeling... like the tyres lack grip and start to slide wide even on dry roads. I don't have the confidence to lean the bike at all. Dunno if it's the tyres or my suspension... but since the latter is due for a change before end of year, I guess my question should soon be answered. Assuming I can get it set up properly of course.

Speaking of tyres... what is the longest time it is 'safe' to keep a set of tyres on the bike? My tyres are coming to almost 2 years old but my mileage is so pathetic that I haven't even crossed 13k km :faint: I'm still riding regularly, so it's not standing still... but it's usually just short distances. Any views on this?

hmm... glanced thr the last page and saw ur discussing abt rear shock.

if we rebuild the stock shock with ohlins spring, how would it perform compared against the real thing and stock 1?

rebuild can build according to the rider weight??
