Intermittent engine-cutout problems in my experience are usually electrical.

You could start with a simple solution that worked for me: spray WD40 down your ignition barrel, with a cloth underneath to catch what flows out. Run the key in and out, turn it off and on while flushing repeatedly with WD40 to clean out anything that could be in there causing a bad connection. Finally spray with some electrical contact cleaner (available at any DIY or hardware store).

You could try the same with your engine kill switch.

A bad connection in either of these would cause your engine to cut out. Of course, it could be something deeper in the wiring as well.

Another question: What are the other symptoms when your engine cuts out? Do your dashboard lights and meter stay on? Or does everything shut off completely?

Assuming the lights are on, does the engine crank when you press the starter? Or no response at all?

Indeed lo and behold it was the kill switch. Did throw in some wd40 and it worked like a charm! Thanks guys. You guys are a genius.

Hi all!

I have a 2002 Fazer 1000 which I need to scrap since COE is expired.

Is anybody here who

1. can help me to scrap (i am currently not in town, but it needs to be done soon)

2. want to rip off some parts - e.g. almost new tires

3. can recommend me somebody who will take over the scrapping for me.

I would suggest perhaps you could take a look at race tech suspension in usa to change the proper spring rate to your fork springs and gold valve cartridge emulator kit....

http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Yamaha/FZ6/2004-09

you can find the ideal spring rate by keying your riding weight and riding preference to calculate the best spring rate for your weight....Starts with letter FRSP no something and something... and it said there the gold valve suitable for your bike is FEGV S4101 ....

you can buy these off amazon at good prices...and certain sellers from there have low shipping rates like below 10usd....

It comes with instructions showing you where to drill six 6mm or was it 8mm holes in both your damper rods and further on how long to cut new fork preload spacers for your forks..n how much fork oil level height you need ....If you got a motorshop wic you are comfortable with ...you can guide them or they follow your instructions.....

this is also a good time where you can get adjustable preload fork bolt from ebay...

https://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/41mm-CNC-Preload-Adjusters-Fork-Bolts-YAMAHA-FZ6R-FZ6-2009-2015-14-2-Pcs-5-Color/142438139274?hash=item2129f9858a:m:m4yj2aXq-N-NAcYlHMmIfJg

they reli help when you wanna service your forks....less tension when you take out the top bolt....

or alternatively you can go to a race tech technician shop for advice....so far I heard guan hoe at kaki bukit autobay have contacts for a race tech trained technician on call for appointment....or you can go fluid mechanics wic is the official race tech fella in singapore....

also you can change upgrade your rear suspension to something aftermarket perhaps?...nitron...penske?...ohhhlins...?hyperrpro?...

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that
