how to diferentiate export set n local set fone?

fren of mine got a Sony Ericson K610i from Singtel Hello shop with 2 year plan. very suprice that one of his fren told him that his set actually is export set!!

 

ask my fren how he knw then he said he judge by the fone PCB(actually my fren wanna change fone cover)

 

any 1 knw how to diffrentiate whether is export or local set without taking out the cover?or can judge by the IDA sticker?

Price is a factor. about $80 - $150 cheaper.

buy from singtelshop main branches not possible to get export set.

Export set if u buy from those authorised dealers.

Anyway, you can just take the imei number, call IDA and check.. all communication devices are registered with them. If the imei number is not registered with them, its an export set.

Export sets have no 1 yr warranties . Some of the fone language does not have asian languages installed . Some models may vary slightly in functions as compared to local sets . N some have the boxes tat r different as compared to local sets & might oso have different packed in accessories .

 

Anyway , local & exports sets all have the TAS/IDA sticker to be certified ok for sale here .

 

From wat i know , Nokia will repair ur export set fone , but u have to pay for the service charge & the prices of the parts to be replaced .
