hello all.

been a while i was away.

my bike was sent to pasir ris spc for servicing.

the bike's getting slower and slower which i cannot stand.

but i was surprised, some places service carb $80 at heng motors, $60 at global, $50 at HLC and cheapest is $25 at spc pasir ris.

lol.

those guys from 1st 3 shops really want to cheat me big time eh:cry:

was told that my bike's problem is due to the carburetor.

mechanic suggested I change the carburetor but he has no parts.

i asked to get it clean but he said it won't help.

now where can i find a carburetor for my bike ?

Is he sure its the carb problem?? To my experience, carb super difficult to spoil.. Which part of the carb damaged? Diaphram? Slide? Spring? Jetting screw? Pilot screw? Vent hole? Needle?? Float bowl? Float valve? Air jet?.. Ask him which part spoil.. I might be able to help you.. Had a friend whose carb is damaged, told by the mechanic its beyond repair. When checked, its the main jet thread damaged.. Could be fix by teflon tape.. But the mechanic insist on getting new carb.. 463 bucks down the drain..

im surprise that comet uses diaprhams like pulsar. pulsar has some issues with diaphrams too. the diaprahm might be worn so need to change. the diapram acts as a vacuum for the petrol. if it gets hard, den that would be the reason for power loss. so for pulsar, we always advised NOT to use VPOWER for petrol. vpower's has a strong chemical that affects the diaphram. i suggest to change the diapram and see the result.

The diaphram acts as a sealant to cover up the slide gap to allow vacumm on the upper slide as the butterfly valve opens.. The wider the butterfly open the higher the slide goes.. How?. As the engine sucks air, it passes a hole on the slide which is called the venturi hole.. This creates vacuum on the upper side causing the slide to rise. Diaphram will last as long as the bike is running.. It will only damage when some mechanics tries to open or wash with funny chemical.. V power will never damage Any diaphram or any part of the carburettor.. Only some ethanol base petrol.. If not, v power will never make its way to the market.. If im not wrong, your diaphram is leaking causing vacuum loss.. Slide not lifted up fully..

This bike has two piston, two carb.. CV carbs is a must.. Constant velocity carbs aka diaphram carbs... Pulsar, tries to catch up with technology by using cv carbs.. Normal carbs are outdated.. Usually found on old bikes... Even the new ybr is using cv carbs.. Most scooter is using cv carbs..

Can this also cause the bike to decelerate when going uphill? And making your rpm stick to less than 100, cannot go over?

that's what i'm facing.

worse is sometimes even hard to go past 80km/hr right now.

i don't know if it's also due to my rusty chain which i left at the shop for a week.

maybe we all should pay yinghai a visit ?
