doesnt offend me, but i really dont think much of someone who wears fake watch and try to pass off as real.

 

Know a few people like that.

But because i know Rolex quite well, even on their wrist i could see the flaws of the fake ones.

 

Whats the point. A good watch is self actualization.

If cant buy it, doesnt matter, dont have to wear fake to pass off as real.

Cheat others is bad but by doing so person is cheating oneself.

In the end, thats worst.

 

For example, i have seen a phantom respray harley davidson on the tank.

and rider dress to the nines acting like he is riding interstate across continents.

Take that as your goal dude, strive for your first authentic seamaster, it's not that hard of a target, you should be able to hit this goal anytime with a normal credit card. They have interest-free installments for 24months.

search for Sea Dweller Deep Sea last month too, most of the watch shop says no stk incl the ones u mentioned. New stk will be here few mths later n price will also increase. BT Aug issue mentioned price of Sea Dweller Deep Sea at $12,668 but all AD says that is old price liao....

I heard that the deep sea will cost around 15 to 17K. as usual, above listed price

when i was in Lichtenstein in 2001, i chanced upon a watch shop selling a SeaDweller. Price was CHF5750. (CHFSGD was 1 to 1 then) Contemplated buying but already had a Subdate since 1998 and so didnt bother with it.

 

During those days, Sub and Explorer and SD were quite hard to come by.

Daytona was almost impossible.

Nowadays, they are everywhere.

You can also go and shop around the second hand watch shops .

Sub with no date is cheap but may not be that easy to find becos it's not so popular.

 

Try pawn shops too. can get good deals!

Saw some vintage sports Rolexes before at Watch Arena at Balestier Road. Check out their website http://www.watcharena.com.sg/. Their website never gets updated but their shop does stock a good collection of second hand as well as brand new Rolex, AP, Patek Phillipe and Panerai watches as well as other international watch brands at prices which are much lower than a lot of other second hand watch shops located in town.
