only thing you won't have to do is take your basic theory again (unless you failed!). and if you are a cdc student, probably don't need to pay registration fee. cost can range from 500 bucks to 2000 bucks depending on how fast you learn. there are 8 'lessons' to do and you may have to repeat some of them. assume you repeat each lesson 2x, its 16 x 24 bucks (per lesson) = $384. assume you do 4 revisions (2 for circuit and 2 for road, many people do more) 4 x $24 = $96. so far 480 in total. if you repeat more lessons then total cost will go up. i personally know people who took a year and 1.5k to complete. some took 4 months and 600 bucks to complete. test costs i cant remember, maybe another 100 bucks there. i doubt you can do it in 4 months now-a-days due to lesson availability. i think 6 months minimum unless you can go any hour of the day any day of the week.

try to avoid going CDC unless other driving centres are really far from your house. The slot available in peak hours in CDC is ridiculous you have to wait 2weeks for a slot. You can clear 2 lessons in other driving sch like BBDC and SSDC with the 2 weeks waiting time per lesson.

there is another theory called riding theory for motorcycles. maybe your friend is talking about that. since i had a car license when i signed up for bike, i didn't have to do basic or final theory tests. only Riding Theory.
