i dont think the main concern is locking of the bike during braking..

i dont know if u fellas experience this b4.. when negotiating a corner and realised u are too fast, u tapped the rear brake a little too hard.. and the whole bike suddenly straightens..

my fren crashed his BB becos of this.. and i also has my share of near misses.. so i think this is what makes the CBS so unpopular..

When you take a corner you are supposed to crack the throttle open. Your weight distribution is supposed to be approximately 40% Front and 60% on the rear. When you corner, the bike automatically slows down and the front end gets loaded higer than the supposed 40%.

 

If you brake or close the front throttle to fast, you will end up with a high side where the bike straightens and throws the rider off in the opposite direction of the corner eg if you are turning left and brake, you will fly off to the right side. Dangerous cos after you fly off the bike, the bike will come next and usually lands on top of you.

 

If you are in a corner and realize you are too fast, close the throttle a little, the bike will start to straighten. Get your butt off the seat and lean into the corner with a new lining. If you don't do this, you will low side. Basically, in corners, use your throttle and dont keep it closed cos your bike will straighten after a while. Try accelerating and look far. Your bike ends up where you look. Most of the time anyway.

 

You can watch the GP riders - they almost never touch their brakes in corners and take note of how they are positioned on the bike and where they are looking.

hmm... u do got a point there..

 

hehe.. the one thing abt cornering that i dont know is actually what many call the throw backside method.. hehe.. really.. at most i shift my butt.. but to really lift it off seat.. i've yet to try..

3rd and 4th March 2007 (Sat & Sun)

 

2day 1 nite trip to KL

 

Set off at 5 am and 4 hrs ride to hit destination (propose by Mr V) Stops will be minimum if best not to so participants are strongly encourage to bring along a water pipe to attach to the male anatomy for fast relieve. Sharing is strongly not advised to due to hygiene purposes.

travelling speed will be 140-160 mph (hahaha) by eddy......

Phil requested to have Pitstop but organiser decided against it but we will have detour challange instead (fyi, detour is a task that can only be carried out by 1 person). The challange is to see who can do the most circles off customs near the guardhouse.

Hazri will be incharge of the activities there(p/s if you guys have any preferance for the type of companion there, the organiser will gladly acceed to your request for a small token of Teh Tarik, friendship price). Family (means trying to create family, layman means boink) KTV sessions will also be available but not included in standard package deal...

 

And the Main Highlight of the trip (which is still in serious negotiation by organiser) is Base Jumping off the Petronas Twin Tower.......
