hehe.. but there is this prob.. i'm taking a coach up cameron.. going with a grp of non bikers.. leave the cameron option open for another time.. i really want to ride up there...

well.. no blinks.. ride halfway, FI light comes on.. Shut off engine and start again.. lights go off.. then after a little while.. lights comes on..

 

i had this prob last time.. it seems okie as as it did not have any symtom.. but eventually, my bike broke down along the expressway and cannot recover..

your lights same as ours..

 

1) once RPM reach about 3.5k - 4k the FI light will come on.. and stay on..

 

2) when you put down your sidestand.. the FI lights like blink 2 long, 5 short..

 

if yours is the same as (1) & (2), then same problem as ours.. basically, something shorted, or sensor spoil..

when my FI light comes on.. it stays.. and when i put down my side stand, it blinks like what is stated in scenario 2..

 

prob is.. it dont necessary light up at 3.5 - 4k rpm.. sometimes at 5kplus, sometimes even at 2kplus..

ok senario is about there, from all of us that have experience the problem, we can safely say it is nothing serious (if its 25 blink, 2 long and 5 short) it is a sensor problem and sad to say, unless you have the factory manuel, you wont knw WTF 25 blink means.

 

Ok l went to motorshop, got it warded for 5 days... mechanic check thru all wires and individual sensors, ride and test after each sensor change ..... did manage to solve problem for a while untill my next Msia ride 6 mth later..... then as suddenly as it appears, it disappear after abt 2 mths later.... bt $$ is abt $800.... pretty Xpensive....

 

Eddy had the same problem, went Boon Siew several times and the Mechanic cant reticfy at 1 go so eventually they change the whole ECU which cost abt $1.5K plus..... cos of the ECU change, the HISS ignition is also change...... but problem solved....... completely......

 

so eventually it comes down to you if you wanna spend that kind of $$$ or like Phil's theory .... LIVE WITH IT...... you decide.....

 

either way unless the ECU died on you then its major problem as according to mechanic..... if no loss in power, then its not worth the $$$ spent...... tats wat my mechanic says........

 

its an old bike anyway so we gotta live with it, if it will make you feel better, go to your favourite mechanic and get it check out ...... :bouncefire:

hmm.. got a point there... anyway.. my mechanic told me once that my PCIII is abt to give way.. maybe that's the reason why the FI light appeared..
