our suspension is not easily serviced... a lot of work.. last time, they asked me to buy new one. one of the reasons i sold the bike. my suspension was really gone... there is not hole to top up the gas. they have to drill... ours is a special case.. i tried to change to blackbird biturbo sus but it wont fit..

 

Roger, wat is wrong with your suspension anyway? Will getting it serviced help you ride better? is the bike 'bouncy'?

it's not even bouncy.. i'm taking direct shock of what the bike takes.. hmm.. how much is it for a suspension anyway?

hmm.. if overseas this kinda price.. i think sg might be a little more ex..

Wat i understand is that rebuild suspension, they can dismantle and change spring and oil to suit the rider's weight .... but like wat Eddy says, ours no canister so cant jip gas.... anyway suspension rebuild can also be done to the fork suspension like wat Mr V did.....

i want to put side panniers... but the bike will end too bulky and in sg.. following behind cars is the last thing u want to do..

me not familiar with SKMC but if you one can put Kim Keat there then he help asl SKMC to fabricate while repair work is being done... tats how i did it... anyway, cos our bike is rare so they still remember tat a certain X-11 did a crashbar there....

 

anyway, my friend say tat there is this guy (i remember wrongly, no yishun shop tat do suspension) who can do suspension (old man name henry) but freelance liao .... you game to let him try pilot? must call to make appointment ....

went down to kim keat just now to have my squeaking sound checked.. diagnosis result.. chain too dry.. according to ah hwee.. chain wax may not be able to penetrate in between the links.. and i have been using wax ever since i had my chain changed... i have also removed my PC3 as well as revtec.. hehe.. really not used to it.. response a bit diff.. oh well.. since i removed it, also lazy to put back liao...

 

my bike will be going in there nxt week again to have the following things done...

1) change throttle cable..

2) synchronise my piston timing..

3) wire check + knock sensor check..

4) tail fairing re-carbon fibred or repaint(depending on whether it can be restored)

 

dont know how long will it take and sure cost a bomb..

 

anyway.. i decided to postpone the suspension thingy.. wait till i 1 day kena big big 4D..

wow.... why your bird so many problems ah?

 

i never had these problems during the 5 years + of flying except for battery & tyres change, bearings change & fork servicing due to normal wear & tear.

hehe.. no la.. reason for me to do this is basically becos the bike will be in the bike shop for a few days for wiring check.. this leads to..

 

1) tailboard recarbon fibred.. (was unable to do it cos need job take s days to weeks.. to complete..)

2) synchronise piston timing.. (timing more or less will be off due to constant whacking of bike.. and since it's already 5 yrs, might as well do 1..)

3) change of throttle cable.. (nothing wrong.. just find a little stiffer compared to ed's.. so jealous.. )

 

for 1), it's just to restore my bike's original beauty..

for 2) and 3), actually wanted to wait till nxt servicing.. but since the bike's tank got to be out for the wiring chk.. might as well..

btw, i heard from ah hwee that scraping a bike only require the Frame and Engine to be there.. of cos.. frame number and engine number got to tally..

 

and... if that's really the case.. do u want to sell ur ECM cheap?? might want to keep one for spare..

woa major cough blood ...... yours sound so jialet.... watever it is, set aside $400 if not enuf tell him another day give him lah ... cos his side no nets... only cash.... talk nicely to him cos many X-11 go to him for repairs mah .... sure he can make leeway one... he very nice to talk to lah .... just quote his major customer name (philip) lah... anything can give him phil add and hp as your backing hahahaha

 

rack mine is mounted on the 4 screws on the pillion grip not extended to to the pillion seat there .... so streamline clean ... no unwanted lining.... Ah hwee fabricated mine from RXZ so mine is not from Givi (brackets)... not bad looking sia .... if you wan can ask him to make one lor....

hehe.. paiseh.. went to bed a little too early liao..

 

anyway, ya... i saw ed's bike over there.. heard from ah hwee that ed complained of some loud unknown sound coming from the engine.. haha.. ah hwee been fixing up X11s week after week.. 1st was shithead's, then ed's.. nxt will be mine...

 

anyway.. with regard to the racks.. i was told by ah hwee that u still have the racks with u.. i dont need the box and baseplate as i already have one.. but what i need is the rack.. saw ed's.. his was mod in a way that 4 of the mounting points are to the pillion handgrip bolts.. troublesome to mod mine.. so if u have the same racks as ed's and have no use for them, then can sell me... friendship price.. hehe.. think will be seriously broke after nxt week...

Harlow....quite a lot I miss ah...box n pannier...few bikes ICUed...time to run my X later liow...anyone will b at Ah Hwee later?...can go lim Kopi.

 

Rog: I did the Front fork servicing lar, not the rear suspension.
