actually the sliders are used to protect the fairings upon stationery drop..

and the screws play an important part too..

by rite the sliders screw should give way when the slider experience certain impact, and not stay wif the frame and drag it misalight..

some "chiong" slider provide those screws that will not give way..

 

huh... got such hi-tech slider wan ah ? so far i see, they either break the frame, or the screw broken n stuck inside.

i hear the screw should work that way..

but very hard to find the screw in the mkt..

will still get u screwed up once slider is broken

knn from wat i experience b4... if original honda screws... its not suppose to break... only bend lor. my accident last time, magneto cover... got some are original screws and 1 non-ori screw. whole thing broken mah, the original screws are very bent, but still can take out. the non-ori screw broke inside - stuck to the crankcase. freaking hard to take it out leh....

 

imagine last time i see rickilan slider screw broke inside his k3 frame... ah chai use the power drill until come out smoke also canot take out. in the end have to use another machine ( for drilling solid stainless steel wan ) oni can take out....took him like 4 hours just to take it out. dats y kind of puzzled to see such a screw being made to break.

i think its more advisable to use short-cut sliders. the long type, anyhow will be more fragile. upon impact, the long ones will bang harder on the bike's frame compared to the short ones.
