Change fork springs and also rear absorber. Check with Wong of Kymco Sg. As for vibration while moving off, remove your clutch and clean of all tue dust and then with a rough sand paper, roughen up the clutch pads. That should give you smoother accelaration from standstill.

You are riding a "Gentleman's City Tourer" so leave the dirty jobs to the poor mechanics la ;)

But if you really want to do it yourself then you will need the usual tools plus an impact wrench to remove the clutch bolt and also an air blower to clear the clutch mechanism of clutch pad dust. (It is not a difficult job if you have the right tools. Suggest that you let a mechanic do it for the first time then you can watch. Then for subsequent cleanings, you can do it yourself).

As for the cornering of my xciting, perhaps you might want to change the tyres too.

Here's what I have done :

1. Changed front and rear tyres to Pirelli Scooter tyres ( check with AC Motors for the exact model)

2. Changed my rear spring and absorber to YSS from Motorsports - Kymco Sg (YSS is slightly shorter than stock)

3. Changed fork springs to stiffer springs available from Bike James (look him up on facebook or you can contact his Malaysian agent, Mr. Cham : 6012-5825266 who will be able to send it over to Sg). Then lower the front fork by 5mm to match the rear.

Take note that my set up has ended me with a bike which is slighly lower compared to stock but I am ok with it. Clears bumps without scraping at all.

Also be careful on the amount of fork oil you replace. Do not try and add more to stiffen up the front end as it will make your bike really harsh to ride especially with stiffer fork springs.

The above mods have resulted in a very stable scooter at high speeds. Cornering is stable up to about 130km/h. Above that speed, there tends to be a slight weave when taking corners with uneven surfaces.

The Pirellis are excellent in the wet and inspires confidence. Not once did I experience rear twitch going over white lines when wet (happens very often with stock tyres).

There are also other options to consider. Eg. Bitubo rear shocks and front springs and oil but it will be pretty expensive.

Anyway have fun with your mods and clutch cleaning; )

Jan two different people said different things, one workshop informed me 46mm, and another person said 41mm and now you say 45mm. I better visually verify this.

Yes several guys here installed Malossi clutch spring sets. It seems to work well but I myself using tech pulley KISS CLUTCH together with tech pulley Torque spring.

Ramzi, based on XCT400i manual, its stated that the nut size is 46mm... Im planning to get this also.. No forget our cvt class ha? Haha..

Before you start:

Prepare the Dimotiv axe with grease, and keep this axe nearby the scooter, on the work spot.

Main reason to keep it nearby the scooter is because of after you slide out the OEM axe,

in one and the same handling you try too slide on the Dimotiv axe.

1* Remove front-fender (just for security reasons!) 2 bolts/2 pinch-bolts)

2* Remove speed-sensor (right side / 1 bolt 8 mm. socket)

3* Loosen the front axle pinch bolts (4X) with a 6 mm. Allen. (on each fork-legs 2x)

4* Loosen the front axle with an 24 mm. socket.

5* Support the front wheel and slide the front axle out from the left side. (Try to keep the collars and wheel in position, you can do easily by squeezing the front brake-lever)

6* Replace Dimotiv front axe (amount grease onto axe)

7* Mount both Dimotiv front axle sliders.

Caution:

Be careful and remember that the front wheel without axe isn't steady.

Maybe it's a good ID to ask somebody else to support the scooter, they can do

easily by hold and push down Xc's tail, or just hold up the steering or front vork.

You can ask them also to keep squeezing the front brake lever during removing/replacing the axe's

Dear all,

Selling off:

Kymco Xciting 400i- Dr Pulley Hit clutch , Clutch Spring,Torque Pring& Flying Roller.Review:

KYMCO XCITING 400i with Kiss Clutch x4,.. plus 20% contra spring

One word.. best giler.. meloncat motor power delivery is always there..will give you better acceleration will also effects with the Clutch engagement. The front pulley is rpm controlled, Via the weights. The rear pulley is kept in low gear by balancing the weights & the contra spring, Mixing the spring, red and yellow giving rpm kick in 3800 rpm and it hold the rpm while on hilly road, Overtaking vehicle more confident due of midrange power, the Clutch help to maintain grip

FC.. not much effected and should inspect the belting regularly... top speed ? with stock setting/bike almost the same BUT... to reach it to the the top end with this clutch its works like a champ! Power comes on quickly with no hesitation.

Just a little higher rpm before take of.

The Malossi I have, got 10 gram rollers and I still have to test that +20% spring instead of the Malossi +13% spring that I use now.

With use of lighter rollers it make more sense to use harder spring.

Cheers Jan

With use of HEAVIER and no way lighter rollers it make more sense to use harder spring!!!

@ userGr

Nope didn't buy myself any clutch.

I have the MiVV exhaust but I think even with Db-killer it's way to loud.

And if it comes too performance the OEM exhaust is just fine, only good thing from after-market exhaust is that it's smaller and in case of the MiVV about 4,5 kilo lighter.

UserGR, does the Polini variator reach the 8000rpm. ?

@ Ramzi

I think the big nut onto clutch is 45mm.

Do you already have the Malossi set?

I can tell you that it really is da bom :bouncefire:

Cheers Jan

YES it does reach 8000rpm
