Lass.. out of 10 people that I've talked to.. at least 5 told me to get the S4.. then when I told them about maybe getting a SV, the 5 increased to 8. haha!

But the remaining 2 still told me to get what I like. So I got the SV! I don't deny that S4 is probably a much better bike than the SV, in terms of performance, maintenance, what-have-yous.. but after being "practical" for my 2B year, getting a cheap, low maintenance, good performance bike.. I tink for my 2A year, I should listen to my heart instead of my head, and get something that I like! :)

Practicality wise, it is actually quite a small bike for 2A, so handling wise should not be a problem! It's not that heavy either at 160+ kg. As for insurance, Suzuki bikes are amongst the cheapest.. and the machine price for this bike (if 2nd hand) is considered quite low as there is a low resale value. The first SV400 was "born" in 1999/2000, so it's really quite new! I'd rather pay 5k to get a 4-5 yrs old bike than to pay 5k for a 10 yr old sportsbike.. ;) no offence to those who think otherwise. Just my personal preference. :)

Think about it Lass.. when are u taking 2A? If it's anytime soon, can start scouting for it already! :)

:lovestruck:

better fuel consumption I agree

but better performance? I've yet to lose to a S4 at pick up...and the top end at 190 should be a match for spec two at least...

Maintainence wise SV requires less EO leh..cheaper each time you change the black gunk....2 spark plugs also.

It is really up to individuals to choose which bike to ride. Being a rider who rode both Super 4 vtec1 and SV400 before, I personally feel that SV400 does give me a more unique feel as compared to Super 4. There was once when this SV650 rider stopped beside my SV400 at a traffic junction and he immediately identify out the similarities. I told him that mine is a 400 and he was even more surprised. The feeling was like meeting up with a long lost friend. We kept our attention so focused on each other's bike that we didnt even notice that the lights had turned green. I dont really have such encounters when riding my Super 4. Even if there is, I guessed that no one would bother to talk about it as it is simply too common for a Super 4 to appear on the roads. :cheeky:

I was also adviced by the practical ones to get Super 4...version S or something like that.

But my heart railed against that.

Furthermore my sportsbike enthusiast kakis, afraid that a Super 4 would domesticate me like so many others (they have this theory that once you ride super 4 you'll think that it's enough and give up your aspirations for class 2) threatened to drop my bike at the carpark if they found out I was riding S4...haha

That made it easy for me :thumb:

Anyway Stardust...add ur name to the list leh...keke

I've only seen one SV before, in Shell at JB...the fella was going out, but stopped when he saw me and nodded to me...

i think pple like us just about to get 2A will have many many phases....

will see this bike tt we like, then can imagine ourselves on it, riding it....

then we set our hearts on it...

maybe another day go walk walk, see another bike we never see before, we like, then start to hua xin liao... and the entire cycle repeats.

i remember i was considering S4 at first. then there was a time i liked RS250. then a babyblade. then monster. then back to babyblade. then SV. dont know where i'll end up... but should b quite steady liao now.

dont need... park in carpark and self-practice liao :thumb:

she's got a smile that seems to me // reminds me of childhood memories // where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky // woah... sweet child of mine // (guns n roses)
