any one knows what parts of sv400 and sv650(or any other bikes) are interchangeable?

(for Gen 1+ 2) from my knowledge, everything other than:

1) headlight (400 uses fish eye and is able to only switch that on)

2) piston + push rods (650 uses bigger piston n longer push rods)

3) front wheel assy (650 has 2 smaller disc brakes, while 400 has 1 large disc)

if for gen 3 sv650 onwards, lotsa things changed.

Like EFI, totally different cockpit instruments.

hmmm okok... thanks alot.. so usually where do u guys do ur servicing? any recommendation of bikeshop that dun have to wait for parts(general servicing) one?

Depends on wat parts need to be replaced.

Motoworld used to have lotsa aftermarket parts for the SV.

U can look for Guanhoe (suzuki agent) for parts as well.

I presume u are riding the SV400 as well?

I tried asking motorworld... was thinking of a tankbra and bellypan if price is rite... but seems like they dun have any stock.. And the price should easily exceed 150 for tankbra and who knows how much for a bellypan...

Was thinking of changing the clutch and throttle cable for my sv400s.. Went to Combine at Sin Ming Autocare, was told need to order and takes between 2 ~ 4 weeks :faint: ...

Bro, when do u need it? I can probably lend you some items u need in July. U will probably need to buy the rectifier as a few of the familiar SV riders don't hold onto one.

For the gloves that you are selling, what size is that? Give me a buzz in the evening when u free.

Thanks mattman. Somehow the tankbra was sold off when I pop by to check the price.

My bike has been running at 21-22km/litre of fuel since brand new on Singapore road. I'm not too sure why some SV riders can obtain 25km/litre. Probably something has been done on the bike.

If your bike FC is on the low side, then might need to tune the bike. Or maybe previous owner might have change to a different jet size.

Sold..? Thats fast... I mean... it should be there for quite some time rite..

Mine ever hit as low as 16+ km/l.. whereby usually is about 18~20 range.. Well, as for tuning wise, i went kallang cycle, mech test ride, say ok, nothing wrong, no problem no need to tune.. hmmm... Been trying to search for the history of my bike but to no avail...

Btw, recently been seeing SV..

blue SV650S near Sungei Tengeh..

black SV400S at bugis carpark..

blue SV650S near Beo Cres....

My bike, after rebalance and retune by the mech, not giving 25km/l any more. Dropped to about 19/20 at constant 120-140km/h :(

I am getting an average of 25km/liter mostly on highway at an average speed of 100-120, lastly mine is SV650.

Happy National Day and ride safely.

The more I ride my SV, the less I care about going to the annual bike show and looking at new,

or expensive, or exotic machinery. I'm continuing to mod my bike into exactly what I want it,

and enjoying every mile I put on it.

Hihi....sorry to break the silence....

I am just wondering....locally,have anyone did a change on the handlebar of their SV?

Let's say i would like to convert the original clip type to the normal barmount type like those on Bandit400 or Superwhore...i mean super4....:sorry:

Can share what are the pros and cons of an SV400?

thanks in advance if i ever get a reply...

For a person like me who spends his time more facing the monitor than out there doing justice on adventure....

We seek nothing more, nothing less....just passion.

nope, none of us changed our handlebars. I think there might be clearance issues with the fairing, unless you are doing a naked bike conversion.
